What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They fit weird, are kinda bulky, and aren't really that warm. They get the job done, but I'd steer most people towards a cheaper, better fitting glove.

    Weird Fit

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Gloves seemed quality from a material / construction perspective, but they were very long and skinny in the fingers. So much so that I had to return them because they were uncomfortable. Maybe I just have hands like Frodo but I've never had this problem with gloves before.

Worst gloves I have EVER owned

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These gloves are UTTERLY freezing on the finger tips. I mean, get it together, Black Diamond. DO NOT trust their temperature rating at all. And when I tried to return them to Black Diamond, they said No. I have worm them a total of 7 days at Park City. Bad experience every day. They're awful. And Black Diamond's customer service is equally bad. These were bought brand new on and were shipped from backcountry, still in the original package.

    Medium-warm, try sizing up

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    A medium-warm gloves with a short cuff.

I’d recommend this glove for weather in the 10s - 30s degrees fahrenheit. The cuff length is perfect if you are looking to have your jacket over it.

Great leather feel that will stand up to lots of usage on the slopes or any winter activity. Through my use of grabbing ski poles, ski edges, and branches, these gloves have hardly a scratch on them. The leather is thick and very durable.

The gloves are somewhat waterproof on delivery and they also include some Nikwax to make these gloves even more waterproof.

Lastly, the sizing feels a little small. I’d recommend choosing one size larger to get the right fit.

    Awesome Mid weight glove

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love these for the standard cold winter days. I use them snowmobiling, snow blowing the driveway and snowboarding. Great utility gloves and actually look cool too! I love the leather look and they came with waterproof cream to treat the leather.

    No cuffs on inside

These gloves would be great except they did not have a stretchy fabric cuff on the inside that would prevent snow from getting in. There is a drawstring on the outer cuff, but snow would get inside of that. Returned.

      Goatskin Leather Gloves!

BD makes fantastic gloves and these are no exception. I got these for my fiance for Christmas and he doesn't wear anything else. I highly recommend for most days on the mountain, if its below 10 degrees, then you may need a liner.

Good fit but not the warmest

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

As a person with poor circulation who enjoys cold weather I am always looking for a glove or mitten that will help quell my hands constant complaining. I normally stick to mittens when skiing, however I got sick of my fumbling attempts to take my skins off and constantly needing to expose my hands to clip buckles (amongst other things).
These gloves have allowed me to operate much more efficiently when skiing, however on moderately cold days I still find myself having to ball my hands up and dance my fingers around my glove to regain feeling. I'm excited to use them in the spring, however right now I am using my mittens whenever I can!

        Great glove

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Large
        • Height: 5'11"
        • Weight: 185lbs

I've used these for one year and so far so good. The quality is great and compared to similar options it's a great price. Keeps my hands warm and breathes well enough to keep them from sweating too much. I got a size large and they fit great. All of the gloves I get are size large if that helps.

Fit and Size doesnt work for me

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Size Bought: S
        • Height: 5'7"
        • Weight: 135lbs

The gloves look great and feel like they will do the job but for my hands the fit is wrong. My fingers are longer than the gloves finger pockets so the palm of the glove does not lay down in my palm. Bad luck for me. They look and feel great. I did use the glove size chart so I would say they don't fit true to size.

        Best Glove Ever

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I have been wearing the Black Diamond Patrol Glove for 3 ski seasons, by far the best pair of gloves I ever had. I ski over 40 days a year and snowmobile in these gloves a couple of times a year and they still look like new.

        Desapointed with the Patrol gloves

I looked up on internet pretty much for the perfect gloves, and after that i have choosen the Black Diamond Patrol Glove, thinking that they was the best gloves! I waited for them a few weeks!

However, i was wrong...and i was very disapointed from the very first day i used them...they had the same problem as all ordinary and cheap gloves..

To go straight to the point: after skiing a while i wanted to take them out for diferent reasons and the liner comes out every time!. its a completely nightmare..after that its hardly imposible to put them back on again! the fingers are on their reverse and humidity or warmness make it such a bad mood the meantime i try to put them back, all my friends are already 200mts from me!!! I cant understand why the liner is not atached to the main shell or main glove. (sorry if my english vocabulary is not the best, i am trying to make myself clear).

I wait for your replay, hoping you can give me a suggestion on what to do...if there is a solution available...?¿

In the mean time i am training how to dial the phone with them on, how to go to the bathroom with them on, how to put my boots with them on...because once i put them in the morning i dont want that nightmare until i get back home!!

          Desapointed with the Patrol gloves

Very Good glove, poor quality control

These gloves are replacing an older pair of similar BD's, think they wee the original patrol glove. I had to send the first pair back because of leather stitching all twisted up on right thump, 2nd pair was better but thumb stitching and leather is still a little twisted.

These fit my XL hands well, plenty of finger room, very warm from 10* and up and very plush inside, cuff pull cord works well, nice thick leather. Leather does soak some water up on wet days but the gloves remained bone dry inside.Big plus, inside does not come out when pulling wet sweaty hands out of glove like old ones. Only things that I dont like is the elastic/tightness around the wrist, it's pretty loose and makes it feel like the gloves will slide off too easily but it hasn't been a problem yet and the quality control among the gloves is poor. I tried on 3-4 pairs of these gloves and they all fit differently. Next time around I will most likely buy locally only so I could get the best fit. B/C return policy and cust. service is excellent though!

Best gloves I've ever owned. I spend 40+ days on the mountain every winter and these gloves have it covered. My gloves are over 6 years old and still going strong. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to get another pair.

            Unanswered Question

These gloves came with a small packet of NikWax to help condition and seal the leather. Awesome!

            My questions are:
First, is it ok if during the application of NikWax I get a little bit on the synthetic/nylon part of the glove? Of course I'm trying to limit it, but will the wax disrupt the breathability of the nylon?

Second, is it advised to also coat the suede/brushed leather part on top of the thumb that serves as a nose wipe?
