Neutrino Carabiner

The Black Diamond Neutrino Carabiner brings you full-strength, easy-to-clip performance at an incredibly light weight of 1.3oz. Unlike other ultralight carabiners, the Neutrino has a large gate opening, so it won't feel like you're trying to clip into a keychain when you're totally gripped and Elvis leg is rocking your blue-suede climbing shoes. Because of its freeze-proof wire gate and ultralight design, the Black Diamond Neutrino hangs from trad, ice, and alpine racks the world over.

Sturdy and Secure

I've had 2 of these Black Diamond Neutrino Carabiner for over 5 years and have used them around 40 times. The spring in the clip is still as strong as the day I got them and they have even been wet a few times.

Ultra Light, Super Strength

Familiarity:

The Carabiners are awesome, super lightweight but really strong. I use these on my Grand Trunk Hammock because those carabiners are so heavy. The wire gate is super efficient and quick.

Classic Carabiner for Multiple Uses

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I use these for my BD Camalots. I've always found them easy to clip, light, and I can match the colors with my cams - not sure why this matters so much to me, but it keeps things looking clean and it's easy to identify cams on your harness! If I was looking for carabiners for another use I might spend more time looking at options with different gates and do some research on what's best for my application, but this is definitely a solid non-lockers and I'll keep using them!

Just what I needed

Great for securing my keys to my pack

Awesome for the price.

I agree with the last review in saying that These are entry level but high quality. Its hard to find a better biner for the same price. I have the sport draws with these biners as well as alpine draws with them. both work perfectly.

Entry level, but the gold standard in simple, functional, durable wiregate biners.

Basic Biner

Familiarity:

This was my go-to beginner biner. Easy to clip and a big gate to work with. Durable and semi lightweight. It's nice to color coordinate too! A win if you are just getting into climbing and don't want to spend too much.

Perfect biners for color coding your rack! Matches the BD cam colors and other brand's colors. Lightweight, relatively small, colored, what more can you ask for?

I use these for my alpine draws, quick draws, and racking biners. I have never had any problems with the gates or durability. They get the job done and are a simple straight forward design. Will always have these on my rack.

Best racking carabiner around

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I use neutrinos to rack all of my black diamond cams. They are small and light which is great when carrying a bunch of gear on your harness. These carabiners are also color coded to match all of black diamonds cams which makes choosing the right cam a lot easier when you're getting pumped on the wall.

Use these for my Alpine Draws

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are smaller than the Hotwires, which I use for the rope end of my Alpine draws since they are bigger and easier to clip into. The Neutrino's smaller size can make it harder to clip into sometimes, but over all they do exactly what they are supposed to, and feel strong an durable as well. The wire gate is great - perfect amount of spring.

Great!

Nice Simple Carabiner. Cool colors, you open it and clip in. Doesnt get simpler than this.

Good biner

Familiarity:

Nothing super ground breaking, but they come in funky colors so I can make sure people dont steal my hardware when racking up.

Are these the new version? Or are they the old version that is shown in the photos?

So I just bought a ton of these to rack...

So I just bought a ton of these to rack my c4s and use as trad draws. Theres a descent price diff between these and the hotwires, whats the reason? should I have gone w hotwires for my draws?

Hotwires used to be lighter so they still have a reputation and some styling, that garner a higher price. Other than that, there's no reason for them to be more expensive. Enjoy the Neutrinos.

The reason Hotwires are more expensive is that they are hot forged and therefore more labor intensive to make. The end result is a carabiner with an I-Beam shape, and a larger size and gate opening, yet the same weight. If you have the money, the following draws would all be upgrades: (Gear/Rope) Hoodwire/Hotwire, Nitron/Hotwire, Oz/Hotwire. That said, Neutrinos are great carabiners in general, and for racking, I think you made the right call. The color coding is convenient, and I actually prefer a smaller carabiner for racking, if only for the way they sit compactly on my gear loops. They're still pretty light, and very functional.

Hi, can some one post comparison photo of DMM Phantom coloured and BD Neutrino? thanks

I don't have a photo, but go with the DMM, it's bomber.

Would these work with a 10.4 mm rope?

Would these work with a 10.4 mm rope?

Gate opening is 22mm- will handle your 10.4 rope just fine.

Ok. This seems like this is the best place for help. I need a carabiner that does not use a screw, holds at least 120 lbs, and has around a 2.5 inches in width

This is it!
