Modernist Rock Pant
You can get your morning climbs in before work when you're wearing the Black Diamond Men's Modernist Rock Pant. I love them. Slim without being tight, and even when stretch you don't feel restricted. Lightweight, pockets are the perfect size, and comfortable as anything I've ever worn. I managed to get a used-like new pair for $50, which is the only way I can justify. The 4 stars isn't 5 because there simply isn't a reason for a pair to be $100, other than the BD name.

I wear these pants to work and then to the gym twice a week. I wore these pants for a week straight in Fontainbleu, scraping them over course sandstone, and I wore them to work the next week. These are the best pants I've ever owned. My only gripe on the pants for day-to-day wear is that the fly cover pooches out a bit, which is a little awkward with a tucked-in, oxford style work shirt. If BD could find a fix for this, these would be the only pants I would ever need to buy for 99% of life.

Like the other reviewer said they are a skinny fit, I like that though. They fit my body type really well. The fact that I could wear these pants for a night out in the town, then go climbing in them the same day (the stretch in them is awesome) is real big draw for me. I ended up buying a second pair I love these pants so much.

The first thing I did when I slipped on a pair of these was head to the climbing gym. These pants excelled in comfort and stretch, I felt no restrictions in my movement. I've been very impresssed with Black Diamonds fit on their clothing, I'm a skinnier person and these pants have a great slim (possibly considered skinny) fit. I feel like I could take these pants out on a night in the town as a semi-dress pant, then take them climbing the next day.

Pant fit was accurate for me. The material is stretchy but not itchy. I've taken them bouldering once and am happy with them so far. They feel durable.

lightweight slim fit pants that still move with you. Don't expect to wear them instead of nicer pants but good for a casual social event or major activity. I'm a skinnier guy so it's hard to find a pant that is this fitted.

I'm slender (5'9" 145lbs) so it's been tough to find something that looks like it fits but still functional. These pants accomplish both goals. Slim fit but still very easy to move around with.

I have worn a pair of these (have them in blue, black, and gray) almost every day for the last year. I wear them to work (casual office environment), to the bar, driving cross-country, climbing, hiking, skydiving, and everything in between. I've worn them on multi-pitch climbs through off widths, camping for several days at a time, in the rain, in the snow, and even in the desert heat. They really are the most versatile pants I've ever owned. I'm a pretty consistent size 32 in most pants and these fit me perfectly. They a little slim through the legs, but I like them that way. My thigh measures 21 inches around and I can pinch about an inch of extra fabric. There is a little taper towards the ankles so they stay pretty slim through the lower leg. I measured mine (yup, wearing them now) at 16 inches around at the ankle. The 4-way stretch fabric stretches really well in any body position and the gusseted crotch (not sure material type but it is more stretchy) makes them more flexible than you are. The material is unlined and fairly thin but they have been surprisingly durable. No lining means I can wear them in the desert and not burn up, but I can also wear them in the winter with a base layer and be comfortable. Water and wind resistance is moderate as expected w/ soft shell fabric. Downsides: The only downsides I can think of is that my gray pants do pill a little bit (weird for soft shell), but my blue ones have not (black ones are an older model and they used different soft shell material back then). I have worn my gray ones at least twice as much as the others, so maybe that's why? I wear them often for climbing and white chalk and dark colors don't go well together. For the most part you can brush the chalk off, but it does take a little work. Other things like dirt also show fairly well on them, but can usually be brushed off or wiped off with a damp cloth which is super convenient if you're on the go or can't wash them for a day or three. The dark colors are nice for wearing them at the office or on the town, but not quite as good in most of my adventure settings. A couple lighter color options would be awesome. Overall these pants are great and I'll probably buy a couple more pairs in case BD decides to stop making them.

These pants are amazing in every conceivable way. I am a relatively slender rock climber, and I climb hard. Not only do these pants fit my slender waist and build perfectly, but they're probably more comfortable than my sleep flannels. They stretch easily, but are tough enough to sustain long climbs. If BackCountry had my size (28) again I would literally buy every pair they have in stock.

Cruise slacks!
We went on an alaska cruise and I used these to wear to dinner a couple of times but they also were great for hiking. There is no lining to them so they don't get too hot. I think the cut is like a comfortable pair of jeans, they can also take a belt so they look nicer if you need them to.

Solid pant. Good fit and great stretch. Definitely have a more sporty look to them which doesn't make them best for around town but they are totally passable in most situations. When going on overnights in the mountains these pants really shine. They shed dirt, water, and whatever else you get on them well, but are also comfortable. They don't have that scratchy or crinkle feel that other "outdoor" nylon pants have which is a real plus. Can withstand a little ran and dry pretty quick.
