Overall Disappointing
Pros: lightweight, good size for day hikes
Cons: no trekking pole attachment loops as description indicates; water bottle holders awkward and too shallow to keep water bottle in; very weak cord for the "compression" front storage; hipbelt does practically nothing in terms of transferring weight from shoulders to hip (but I should have known seeing that it's just a thin webbing).
Disappointed in quality
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've had this pack for less than a year and the quality has been OK. A couple of months ago, the webbing on one of the strap began to tear so that the boning is no longer secured at the top, and some of the mesh on the backside of the bag has also torn. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with it- commuting to the climbing gym and hiking the approach to the crag. While I understand that normal wear and tear is to be expected, it's frustrating that it's already coming apart and it hasn't even been a year! I expected more from a company like Black Diamond. Overall, it's a meh.
Lightweight Day Bag!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I love using this bag for day hikes. It holds everything I need, and surprisingly weighs very little. There are plenty of places to strap extra accessories to if you need it too! Fabric is incredibly tough and has held up with months of abuse.
Hello,
I would like to ask how to attach an ice axe? Because on photos of this backpack i don't see a loop for it.
