    Versatile Shovel

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this shovel this past winter to use for backcountry skiing. Sadly I wasn't able to use it much due to weather and injuries. I have, however, carried it with me on most of my summer adventures in case I needed it. It definitely comes in handy. Great, lightweight shovel that packs down well. Perfect for using as a giant spatula.

    Versatile Shovel

    very sturdy and good size

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I keep it in my airbag in case of an avalanche it doesn't extend so its perfect for that. I haven't tried it on any avalanche snow but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The handle is thick and the blade is sturdy.

    Great Simple shovel, great value

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great shovel for the price. Its small and compact, quite light and gets the job done. I have used it only a couple times but design seems good and appears to be durable. No complaints yet. Fits exactly what i needed.

Does anyone have a suggestion of the best shovel for building backcountry kickers that is somewhat close in price to this one?
