HotForge Screwgate Carabiner

Does the job - No complaints!

I trust black diamond with my climbing safety between this carabiner, to the solution harness, and the ATC. Picked them all up in a batch and can't say I have any doubts after putting them to work. Will be coming back for more when needed.

Use this for literally everything

Great for climbing, but also just attaching random stuff to random things. Easy to use and durable. I've never taken it outdoors before, but works great for indoor top rope and lead climbing.

she does everything she needs too

she does everything she needs too! I like to clip my extra slings & what not into this. originally got this for my belay device before i learned that it’s not a super solid biner to run rope through, but at the end of the day it does everything it needs too :).

If you’re looking for a manual screw gate, this carabiner has you covered. The marking for “closed” versus “open” is clear & visible. I don’t have any issues with getting the screw gate to begin rotating. I typically use these carabiners as part of my quad anchor. If you’re looking for something that’ll do the job & be budget-friendly, the hot forge is a good item to add to your gear.

It’s okay

I’ve owned several Positron Carabiners and figured I should update and grabbed a few Hot Forge to replace them. The hot forges are significantly smaller which has its pros and cons. It’s very compact on my harness and is great to rack gear with. On the flip side it’s a pain to use for a double rope rappel, it’s tough to get the locker open with two strands of rope running through it. Additionally, I’ve only owned the hot forge for a few months and have maybe rappelled 10 pitches and I already have a noticeable groove. I have positrons I’ve rappelled over 50 pitches with that still don’t have grooves so not too thrilled with that

Super light and strong, easy to use without looking at it. Great price.

Great carabiner

Great quality for a locker on the lower end of the price range. Never had a problem with these and I trust them on every climb.

Comfortable Light Biner for Belaying

I used this carabiner for the first time last night with my ATC-XP for belaying at the local gym. It was really nice having a really lightweight carabiner with an already light belay system. Overall, it was a little odd at first to have something so light, but I got used to it fast and found it really comfortable.

What can I say its light and it works, its weight allows me to carry more then other brands, and I've yet to have the lock come undone unlike some other brands I've owned
