- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought these for ice climbing to protect my pants since I always end up getting holes in them. They are really durable and fit snug to my leg so my crampons don't ever catch.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
My husband had a pair of these that lasted him more than 15 years! He loved them so much I got him another pair for the Holiday and he's as in love as he was with the original pair! They are super breathable and he wears them hiking and ice climbing mainly. He's 5'9" and they are a great height for him and stand nice and tall on his shins. They are waterproof and are fantastic at keeping his legs warmer on a cold/blustery day. When this pair bites the dust 15+ years from now, we'll be getting him another of this exact pair!
Two thumbs up
These gaiters are avery snug for oversized double boots, but for climbing or walking boots, they are hard to beat, and even on long (12h) days of hiking and climbing, I did not have to readjust them part way through. Simple and functional.
Great gaiter for ice climbing - yes, they fit a bit snug - but they are SUPPOSED to. This is to lessen the chance you will catch a crampon on it - you don't want to be that guy with duct tape all over their gaiters, do you? Bombproof - exactly the type of product you would expect from Black Diamond.
Great but a little snug
I've got burly calves and these are a bit snug but work well to keep the snow out. I'm not a fan of velcro but these work well if you have to get in and out of them quickly. I'm 5'2" and they fit just below my knee so no discomfort or leakage of any kind. Very nice.
According to reviews, these are snug. Would they be snug enough, though, for a petite woman with skinny calves?
