Great poles for beginner AT!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

As I am pretty new into the AT world these have been all I could ask for out of retractable poles and lighter than my atomic alpine poles. The attention to detail in this set of poles just captivated me when I received the poles. The powder baskets were quite difficult to put on but with great difficulty comes snug and secure fit. Complaints about powder baskets falling off are user error and not the equipments flaw. They are a bit on the pricier side but with price comes quality and I’m a firm believer in paying the price for quality equipment.

working just fine!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love the 'side hilling' grip on these handles! So far they are proving great for splitboarding, and seem durable. I generally use around a 130 cm hiking pole, but got the 140cm, which may help the strength case.

Great Poles, Except for the powder tips

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

First trail run with these poles and the powder tips fell right off. The threads on these poles are junk. I actually ended up buying a tube of clear epoxy and just epoxied the tips permanently on, and that fixed that problem. I love how they are retractable though. I have been collapsing them down and strapping them and my skies to my backpack so I don't have to carry them. If I didn't have to epoxy the tips on I'd give it 5 Stars.

Basket threads strip. Returning.

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The basket and mating threads are way too soft. They stripped as soon as I tried to install the baskets. I tried both light and hard pressure and ended up stripping both. I'm returning these and will be buying trekking poles in person next time!

Lasted a month

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Got a month of backcountry out of these poles. All it took was one fall to bend these bad boys permanently. Had to replace the baskets twice as well.
