This is my fourth softshell jacket, so I am pretty familiar with this style of jacket. I bought this one because none of my others had a hood. This is the lightest softshell I have owned. It feels like a sweatshirt. I would rate my other softshells for use down to about 35 degrees and this one down to about 45 degrees, of course all depending on what layers you wear underneath. Overall a great jacket, just not as warm as I was hoping. Jacket fits great and seems really well made.

Perfect!

This is the perfect jacket. It’s warm, lightweight, perfect fit, doesn’t limit range of motion, durable, water repellent, comfortable and looks great. It’s truly the perfect jacket.

Element Hoody- it’s pretty good.

I’m 6’2”, about 205 lbs. Size: I ordered both the L and the XL. I ended up keeping the XL. The L fit well everywhere but was a bit too tight in the arm pits. The XL is a bit on the baggy side. It fits me more like a hooded sweatshirt than a piece of technical outerwear. Nevertheless, it’s comfortable. The soft shell exterior feels like it should be pretty durable, though not bomb-proof like my old Mountain Hardwear Alchemy jacket. The interior fleece is plush and soft. This jacket should fit the bill for a shoulder season jacket. So far I’ve worn it in light rain (dwr was sufficient) and chilly/ windy conditions. Works very well for my intended purpose. Cut is fairly long. Sleeves are sufficiently long. I only wish the sizing were a bit smaller. Size L was a bit too tight in the armpits, XL is slightly baggier than I’d prefer.

Good quality

This is one of the very best soft shell jacket’s I own. It keeps the wind out and is warm buy it self in 20 degree weather. The quality of the garment is top notch I would recommend it if your looking for a lightweight jacket that’s good quality.

Element hoody is the raddest

This is the perfect hoody for most of my days on the mountain. It can be used with other layers on colder days and keeps dry with mild rain or snow, and in those beautiful bluebird days, as an over layer keeps the chill off. The fit is perfect, not too short in the arms and back like alot of products. At 6’ 165lb, with the medium, I have some room to layer without it feeling too tight and bulky, but still has a trim athletic fit when wearing with a single layer under.

Well made, that’s for sure.

Very well made and comfortable , strange thing to me is the sleeve length. All other BD jackets I have Medium fits perfect. For some reason the sleeves on this Med are so long I have to roll em...not sure how functional that will be climbing.

Nice Midlayer

Wear this frequently as a standalone in cooler weather. The tight weave on the exterior fabric blocks the wind.
