Bod Harness
Black Diamond kept the design for its Bod Harness simple so you can take it out sport climbing, trad climbing, mountaineering, canyoneering, or even alpine climbing. It's an excellent starter harness that doesn't bust your bank when you're looking to get into the vertical world, and you can even get it as a second harness for when a friend or family member is looking to join you on your adventures. Can't beat the price
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Inexpensive replacement for my old harness. Like the versatility of snap leg loops for wearing over winter clothes. Soaked up a bit of water while canyoneering, but dried out pretty well and remained comfortable during a few swims. If you need a harness that is easy to adjust, get in/out of and don't want to spend a bunch of money, its a bargain from a good brand.

Great Harness
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've had this for a few years now and its held up incredibly well. Comfortable and does everything you need it to. As I've gone from top-roping in the gym to sport to alpine this harness has been along for the ride in everything. You might get lots of questions about why it looks so different, but just say its great for putting on over ski-boots ;)

This is a great buy for someone who is just getting into climbing. Comfortable, easy to put on and at a great price point. It'll keep you safe and hold some gear. What else do you need?

Good Simple but Reliable Harness
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is the harness I use for canyoneering and rappelling. Its light , easy to adjust, takes up little room in my pack. Would probably also use it for some snowboard mountaineering this year as well. The fit is nice, I have large quads and have found this fits different shapes and sizes quite well.

Something Simple
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This is not the harness to climb multi-pitch trad routes with, where taking whippers and hanging off the wall for hours is in store. I got this primarily as a winter mountaineering harness. Something small and light that would fit in my BC pack and will be enough to get the job done on short winter rappels.

Lasts for Years
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
When they say this harness lasts for years they aren't kidding. I don't climb a ton, but I got this harness 13 years ago and its still kicking with no damage to speak of other than a few scuff marks and chalk stains. There are a lot of more expensive, more comfortable, feature loaded harnesses out there, but if you are just getting into climbing and don't want to break the budget this is an excellent buy that will last. Great for the gym or outdoors. Plenty of adjustment within the size range to fit a variety of shapes and sizes. If you are going to get serious about Trad and plan on being on rock outdoors often invest in something a little more comfortable.

Can someone please tell me how the BD Bod...
Can someone please tell me how the BD Bod harness folds up for storage? I have a BD Couloir and I love how it fits into a super small carry bag (see picture). Does the BD Bod do the same thing?

Not as small as the cloulior when packed. The padding on the bod makes it a bit thicker than what you have. The alpine bod however may come close.

Can the Black diamond Bod harness be used...
Can the Black diamond Bod harness be used as a zip line harness? The zip line is 350 feet and 20 feet high.

Cindy, The Black Diamond Bod harness is a full-strength climbing harness that can be used for a zip line. Often though, zip liners prefer to also use a chest harness to keep them upright, check out the Black Diamond Vario as well: http://www.backcountry.com/black-diamond-vario-chest-harness?ti=U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM6Y2hlc3QgaGFybmVzczoxOjI6Y2hlc3QgaGFybmVzcw

It absolutely can be, but keep in mind it's not very comfortable. Granted, you won't be hanging on the line for very long, but this harness is intended for alpine climbing where your weight is rarely fully supported. It's definitely strong enough, but it might be worth it to spend a little more on something with padding like the Momentum AL (http://www.backcountry.com/black-diamond-momentum-al-climbing-harness).
