The Black Diamond Blitz 28L Backpack thrives as we're on the trail, working our way deeper into the mountains with a summit in sight. The pack has been optimized for mountaineering expeditions with Pick Pockets ice axe holders and extremely durable materials, but thrives on any trail. We can remove unnecessary features, such as the hip belt, frame sheet, and bivy pad, so we can move light and fast year-round. The zippered lid pocket gives us easy access to headlamps and snack bars, and with 28L of space, we can pack plenty of extra layers and food for bucket list missions.

Handy and lightweight
We really appreciate how streamlined and lightweight this pack is, but without skimping on and helpful features like the outside zipper pocket or the ice axe carrying ability. It feels like we can just keep putting things in, and the bag magically accommodates.

It’s ok….
Got it for quick ice/rock climbing. Rope slips out and doesn’t sit well. If bag is under packed, the top doesn’t close properly over the rope. I had to stuff random clothes so the bag would be filled enough to hold the rope properly. Especially with no side straps. The rope would slip out. Also, my ice tools don’t sit well with the plastic clips. I just stored the ice tools in the Diamond pocket without using the clips

Great Pack
This is the best pack I own. I use it climbing/hiking/traveling/bringing groceries home on my bike. Pack is simple and holds a lot. Comfortable too. I got my wife the 20, that pack fits her better than the 28. I highly recommend.

Nice bag
It’s way more durable than I thought it would, successfully survived some multi pitch ice climbs. I love the dogbone tool holders, I’ve never seen it anywhere else and it worked very well. The lap belt is a bit weird but it works and was more comfortable than I assumed it would be. I like how the closure is adjustable, I could fold the top down and put my rope under the red closing strap. Super Convenient. Plus the fabric it’s made up is super thin and lightweight, which made me a bit concerned, but it ended up being way more durable than I assumed. Took scratch’s and scraps against ice and rock and didn’t tear (yet). Over all very good pack. I plan on taking it on many more adventures.
