Excellent trail companion

Well built poles for people who appreciate thoughtful design and quality build. I purchased to replace a pair I had for 23+ seasons (dropped one off chair lift) using literally all year relentlessly - trail running, hiking, skiing, splitboarding. Not the lightest or most compact but they’re more solid and will last an outdoor career.

Super sturdy poles for rucking

I've been using these poles for rucking to replace my 20+ year old Komperdell aluminum poles. They are super sturdy - no flex when cranking up a hill with a loaded pack. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the scratches that the clamps have already put on the lower shafts, and how easily the clamps pop off the upper shaft. Otherwise, these are top notch!

Excellent poles - solid & light weight

Poles for my wife. Replacing twist lock poles. She loves the way the flip locks work and the strap design too.

Great quality, but a few quibbles

Overall great quality trekking poles. They have a chunky feel, but are light and maneuverable. Cork handles are very comfortable as well as the straps. When extended and locked down they have no issues supporting my body weight. However, couple minor issues: 1) The (very) small allen wrench that comes with the poles to adjust the flintlock tightness will be lost in no time. Already had to search the couch for it. Would be great if BD could devise some type of pole slot or pouch to keep the wrench with the pole at all times. I resorted to wrapping the pole in a strip of gorilla tape and putting the wrench in that. 2) When fully compressed the bottom section of the pole slides out 1-2 inches freely. Because it’s so tapered at the bottom the flintlock is not tight enough to hold the pole section in. It feels like a flimsy design 3) I know over time these poles will get abused and I have no doubt they can take it, but I’ve already seem scrapes on the poles from extending and contracting. This seems to be caused by the flintlock system rubbing up against the pole when sliding up and down. I’m happy with the purchase and the complaints are minor, but these could be great poles

Awesome poles

Great poles. Strong, light weight and the Whippet attachments are a key feature for when I occasionally need an ice axe but don't always carry one.

Great poles, some quality control issues, great customer service

Love the poles, but one arrived with some rough manufacturing defects. Customer service squared me away and sent me a discount code for future purchases. Would recommend.
