A bit frustrating
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
High marks in every category (grip, straps, weight), but far from frustration free. The locking sleeve has very low tolerances and I've found the sleeve will slide down the pole just a hair which keeps it from locking tightly. This happened to me in the middle of the trail and I just assumed the locking sleeve needed to be tightened (I didn't bring the allen tool with me) so I stowed them. It wasn't until I stopped later in the day and took a closer look that I realized the sleeve just needs to be rotated and pushed back into place. Hopefully this helps someone else when their poles start slipping in the middle of an adventure. Sadly the need to twist and push happens regularly now. I'll have to look into a touch of epoxy, but from what I understand the sleeves aren't permanently attached to the poles. because they're intended to be replaceable.

Great Trekking Poles!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Had a pair for at least 5 years now and still going strong, used for everything from regular hiking (save those knees y'all) to mountaineering. Light, tough as nails, comfy handles. Carbide tips bite super well, so make sure to take them off before trying to pack them in anything. Rubber tips work well if you don't want to scar up rock in drier areas. Clamps have never come undone by accident, even in heavy bushwacking.

Had the original pair for >10 years before the clasping system failed. Great poles, very comfortable w the cork. Looking forward to many years of use with the new ones.

Basically a feather
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I was very surprised when I picked up the poles and I honestly couldn’t believe how light they were. They felt like feathers in my hands. I haven’t used these for long, but the sweat wicking properties of the cork handles are very convenient and help a ton with blisters. Overall these poles are perfect for everything I need.

Super light
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Super light trekking poles. Balance point is a touch higher up than I like, but they swing well. Great adjustability and firm cams don't slip. Grippy carbide tip and comfortable cork. The downside for me is the very bulky and uncomfortable wrist straps. I usually just put my hand over the outside of wrist straps, but these are too bulky for that, and I had to cut them off. This isn't perfect either, as this leaves a little uncomfortable hole on the back of the grip. If BD would make a little plug for these or a thinner wrist strap they would be perfect.

Hey Brad! Thanks for the question. These poles do not have springs or shock absorbers. I will be sending you an email shortly with some recommendations on poles that do have that.
