    What does your future hold?

Look into the Black Crows Orb Ski and see a future filled with deep carves, fast turns, and aggressive all-mountain charging materialize from the misty realm of the fifth dimension. Designed for skiers with a no-holds-barred approach to skiing, the Orb caters to freeskiers with a background in ski racing. With moderate camber underfoot and a flat tail, this ski excels on groomed runs and hardpack, but that's not say that it isn't afraid to pin the throttle down wind-buffed bowls and tight chutes, either. The ski's powerful and energetic flex comes courtesy of a poppy poplar core and stiff titanal laminates, which give the ski a high-performance feel when you're blasting down frontside groomers or mobbing down chopped crud. Speaking of chopped crud, Black Crows threw in an early rise tip to increase float and add some extra lift with you're testing off-piste conditions. With a 91mm waist, the Orb is by no means a powder ski or dedicated carver, but more of an all-mountain ripper that will make the most of just about any condition you encounter when the last big storm was weeks ago.

    • An all-mountain missile with on- and off-piste potential
    • Versatile 91mm waist moves quickly from edge to edge
    • A flat tail with camber underfoot caters to aggressive carves
    • Early rise tip increases float and eases turn initiation off piste
    • Poplar core with titanal laminates has a stiff and energetic flex
    • Black Crows is a freeski brand based out of Chamonix, France

    Love em...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've skied salomon's for the past few years and have been eyeing a pair of Black Cross for the past couple of seasons before pulling the trigger this season and happy I did. I'm 5' 11 and skiing the 183's. Construction is super solid and these certainly stand out in the crowd. I've an Type3 skier and using these primarily for my in bounds, groomer ski. These are essentially a GS ski, can rail turns at high speeds without any chatter. I can also bounce turns back and forth with ease given the 18 cm turning radius. I've also skied them in knee deep powder and while they worked well, not their purpose or specialty. Overall, a great all around ski.

Pros: Fast, solid and pretty damn cool lookin

Cons: None so far (have about 10 days on them as of Feb 1, 2017)

Highly recommend these and looking forward to trying out a pair of fatter Black Crow powder skis (i.e. I'll be back for more on this brand).
