Super comfy to take on a run

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

I wanted a small, lightweight headlamp to use for early morning trail and road runs. After reading extensive reviews, I decided on this little guy. So far, I am loving it. It's lightweight and rechargeable (yay environment), and I think the lack of batteries helps cut down weight. Additionally, I don't find the rotation mechanism moves around much on its own once I set it in place. It has several brightness options, as well as a red light, but I usually find myself using it in the dim setting for runs. The battery life isn't super long, so it's probably more suited for runs and short camping trips than it is extended time in the backcountry, but so far it has been perfect for my needs. I can't speak to its true waterproofness, but I have used it for many 1-2 hour runs in some serious fog/mist and so far it has proven itself to be quite weather resilient.

Super-comfy, rechargeable, and bright!

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

If you want the comfiest, most well-balanced, most eco-friendly headlamp on the market that still packs some power all at a fair cost, then the Biotite 330 is for you. It's not the most handsome headlamp on the market, and the button is a little small, but this is the best, most balanced headlamp I've ever used for running.

Good design, mediocre execution

I really love this thing on paper. Lightweight, rechargeable, and the flush-mounted light unit integrated into the headband is a great use of the newer fabric manufacturing tech that's out there. Unfortunately, the ideas are there but the execution is lacking. The top button is tiny and difficult to press, the rotation mechanism for the light is wobbly and weak compared to my BD headlamp, and you can tell that any amount of water from above is going to end up inside the un-sealed electronics.

Great for a run, not the backcountry

I've used it several times

When I'm camping or hiking red mode is huge for my eyes and battery life. I love how bright the red mode is on this lamp, but where most headlamps would get me through at least a week of nocturnal tasks in the backcountry, the BioLite got me three days. I wish I could dim the red LED. Personal observation: Because the lamp sits so close to my forehead, the beam sometimes grazes the tip of my nose which can be a little distracting.

Trades weight for weatherproof

I've used it several times

I had really high hopes for this headlamp, and at first it seemed like it was going to live up to the hype. It is extremely comfortable, bright, lightweight, user friendly, and thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately, it took less than one rainstorm while guiding to kill it. It now only blinks red twice when the power button is pressed. I submitted a claim to BioLite over a week ago regarding its untimely demise, and they have yet to get back to me. So far, I’m not particularly impressed. If you only ever use your headlamp in dry conditions, I’d highly recommend this headlamp. If however, there’s even the slightest chance of precipitation, don’t bother.

The headlamp blinks red twice when it's locked. Hold the button down for 8 seconds to unlock. Sounds like user error.

Bright and Affordable

I've put it through the wringer

I've been using one of these lamps for the last 6/8 months and it's become my go to lamp. The band is more comfortable than my other headlmaps because the weight is distributed front and rear vs. all up front on your forehead. This lamp bounces less and keeps the light where you want it. The lamp is BRIGHT, brighter than my BD Storm and a Petzl lamp I've used frequently. For the price, I think it's going to be tough to beat this headlamp and the solar/sustainability story behind the brand is something I can get behind, well done Biolite!
