Tiger Wall 3 Platinum Tent

Platinum tents are a part of the Crazylight Collection from Big Agnes. Weighing under two pounds, the Tiger Wall 3 Platinum Tent certainly lives up to its crazylight status. The tent features a silicone treated nylon fly and floor to keep wet weather out when you're hunkered down for the night, while steep walls increases space without adding bulk to maximize space within the tent, so you can stretch out and play a game while you wait out the storm. When you're ready to break camp, the DAC aluminum Featherlite poles keep the trail weight under three pounds for comfort when you're logging long miles on a daily basis.

The Tiger Wall 3 Platinum might shave a pound off the original Tiger Wall tent, but that doesn't mean Big Agnes skimped on features. It still has the same dual door and vestibule designed with Quick Stash door keepers to keep open doors. The Low Vent maintains ventilation with the fly on. The interior pockets are even the same. The only difference a ridiculously lower weight.

Worth Every Penny! I love this tent!

I love this tent because the weight is so low, but yet still is freestanding without need for trekking poles. I?ve done a lot of research prior to purchasing it and this is the lightest tent for the money without having to use a trekking pole tent system. The Big Agnes Tiger Wall Platinum 3 Tent is an excellent quality tent that offers a great amount of room for two persons. I use it with my wife for backpacking trips and it has worked out great for us. The aluminum poles and stakes are made of DAC aluminum which is a major wight savings. The tent material is super thin but so far over the course of a few hundred miles no holes, punctures of signs of wear/tear. The zippers run well. The one complaint I do have about this tent is that the rain shield over the zipper often gets tuck in the zipper which is annoying. But for the weight of this shelter for two people is phenomenal. It has performed well and is really easy to pop up in about 5 minutes.

Love It

TLDR: Buy it, you won't regret it. After exhaustive research into the world of ultra light backpacking tents we settled on the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 Platinum. My wife and I spend over 30 nights under the stars each summer and we were looking to replace our non-free standing tent with something that would be a little easier to setup. If you are looking for a tent that is amazingly light weight while remaining durable and waterproof this is the tent for you. We've taken this tent to the Utah desert, Wyoming's Wind River Range, and to a very soggy Three Sister's Wilderness in Oregon just to name a few. The three person is the perfect size for me, my wife, and our dog. Even if it was just my wife and I, I think I would still go for the three person. I appreciate the extra space. At 6'2 I take up a lot of space but we don't feel cramped and I can sit up without hitting my head. This is one of the more spacious tents for its weight. There are vestibules on both sides and they are big enough to shield your gear and boots in a nasty rain storm. We didn't haven't had any issues with condensation building up on the inside of the fly, even in humid climates. Even after 5 days straight of Pacific Northwest rain, our tent remained dry. The is super light. Like, really really light. It's also very easy to setup which we appreciate after a long day on the trail. It's held just fine in strong winds. Comes with nice stakes. The interior pockets a good size and in a good location. We also really like the media pocket. It's way better than having our junk roll around the tent all night. One thing we ended up loving about this tent is that it has two doors. Many of the super light weight tents we looked at only had one and we don't like climbing over each other to use the restroom in the middle of the night. The floor feels thin but its held up perfectly against our dogs claws. The fly is also super thin, but does what it's suppose to. It took us some time to get use to how thin thy fly is, if you're not careful you can catch the fly in its zipper. Which is easily avoidable but just something to be aware of.
