Manage your microclimate.
One of the biggest downsides to using a common bivy is the inevitable condensation-soaked sensation upon waking up on dewy mornings. Upgrading your ultralight camping experience, the Big Agnes Three Wire Bivy features a 3-layer waterproof/breathable membrane for superior protection from inclement conditions. What's different here is the 3-layer construction's embedded nanofiber technology, which actively disperses moisture to the outside for rapid evaporation. This technology regulates your sleeping climate, so you're never soaked in condensation, which is especially important on cold-weather trips where getting wet isn't an option.
The Three Wire Bivy is equipped for four-season use. Take it on perfect summer evenings, crisp fall trips, and frigid alpine missions with peace of mind. Ultralight nylon keeps its overall weight down, with all the seams fully taped to prevent moisture and rain from seeping through. Mesh ventilation allows you to stargaze on summer evenings without being attacked by blood-thirsty mosquitoes. DAC Featherlite NSL poles retain solid strength, with six superlight aluminum J stakes for solid hold in windy conditions. There's even oversized, reinforced stake-out loops, which can be held down with ski poles or ice axes in challenging winter conditions.

- Q & A
Great, roomy bivy
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The E-Vent material works great at preventing moisture build up, although there have been a few very cold nights where small icicles have formed inside from the condensation. I solved this by leaving the zipper open an inch or 2 unless there was rain or snow. It retains heat moderately well, and is very, very waterproof. In warmer temperatures with the zippers completely closed I have noticed next to no condensation.
I have owned this bivy for nearly a year and have used it mostly in Oregon and Alaska.
Very easy to set up, screen mesh and side zipper are nice. Lots of space for a bivy. Can stash your pack if you are on the shorter side. I am 6' and can't really do it, but still plenty of room to stretch out. Fits extra long sleeping bag and thermarest no problem.
Wish it packed down just a bit smaller, otherwise love it.
