The SL stands for superlight.
The Seedhouse SL2 Tent is Big Agnes' superlight option for weight-conscious backpackers, peak-baggers, and bike tourers. It can weigh a little over two pounds with the fast fly option and can retain the versatile protection and simple comforts that campers require. With silicone treatments and PU coatings, the fly and floor ensure reliable protection when wet weather tries to dampen your trips. Alternatively, the mesh canopy provides proper airflow during summer's warmer weather.
Big Agnes equipped the Seedhouse SL with DAC's ever-popular Pressfit poles with Angle Hubs and plastic clips for a simple and quick setup. There are 11 stakes, webbing, and reflective guylines that prevent you from tripping throughout the night. Multiple mesh pockets organize tiny essentials, and there's one with a media port so you can listen to your nightly sleep sounds as you snooze, but we'd recommend relying on nature's symbiotic melodies instead.

Solid and Easy
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Good, solid performer, especially for a single occupant. This tent is a 2-man only if you don't have a personal space issue or claustrophobia. Pretty lightweight for an easy carry on your rig. Setup is straightforward and uncomplicated, making it easy for a single. Pole system ridiculously easy to "assemble" and attach to tent, no inserting 8-10 foot lengths of pole through sleeves here!. Needs to be staked out on corners and fly points for full benefit of available dimensions and to allow zippers to work without binding. Vestibule barely large enough for a single pack and boots, can't see it accommodating gear for two without some compromise. Inner wall mesh comes down fairly low for weight and ventilation concerns. Fly provided good wind protection. Door threshold a bit short and allows debris to get into tent a bit too easily, but that's a minor issue. Overall good design and execution. This will be my solo shelter for the foreseeable future.
Easy, Light, Good transition to tarps.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This tent has been great to me. Lightweight, quick and easy set up, mesh walls for an open view of everything thats going on around you, rain fly that doesn't drip with condensation, and a nice subtle color for when you don't want to hang in a bright orange tent and be seen from 2 miles out. This is also an excellent piece to transition to using a tarp -- you can set up the fly without the tent underneath it, which brings down the weight even more.
My only complaint is that its a little narrow. It still fits me, my girlfriend, and a 10-pound dog, but the tent wall sloping down on us is definitely noticeable.

Great backing tent
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I took this on a 4 day back packing trip on isle royale. We had two days of rain and it kept me perfectly dry. The tent is also super light and packed well into my 65L bag.
Of my BEST gear...
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is a fabulous tent. Purchased it about 4 years ago and I still adore this thing. It's VERY light and packs up small. However, if you are purchasing this tent then keep in mind that newer versions poles pack a couple inches longer than the older version. Also, as splendid as Big Agnes tents are, they're quite cramped. This 2 person is very snug for one and two IS A CROWD, make no mistake! I recently spoiled myself and bought a BA Fly Creek 3 just for the extra space. As I had mentioned though, for serious backpacking, this is a go to that I highly recommend.
Good quality, green.. and really easy
Ok, so I use this tent in the wildest 3.700 m altitude forest in Colombia Andes, love the low weight and that it is made in color green... An important thing here because you don't want to be spot by bad guys... (this was my selling point) In long tropical nights of rain the tent tends to condense a bit in the sides. Allot of space... easy to stand, Bought it with the footprint, better doit, does weight nothing.... a really good tent, I will recommend it.
