Sleeping near snow.
Camping in winter isn't exactly more comfortable than camping in other seasons, but it sure gets warm when you slip into the Big Agnes Elk Park Sleeping Bag at night. Rated to -20 degrees Fahrenheit, the Elk Park feels right for most winter activities and, thanks to its Thermolite Extra synthetic insulation, it stays warm even if it gets wet. Big Agnes added a water-resistant shell to help prevent it from getting wet, to help you get a sound sleep before tomorrow's big day. Inside, the Elk Park feels just as cozy as your bed at home, with a soft lining made of a cotton polyester blend.
The Elk Park Bag's wide rectangular shape accommodates down jackets as well as twisting and turning. The full-length dual zippers attach the Elk Park to other Elk Parks, and they allow easy in-and-out. Big Agnes' Free Range hood lets you move your head around even when the hood is snug, and there are draft tubes to keep cold air from seeping through the hood and zippers. Like most Big Agnes bags, the Elk Park features an integrated sleeve with stretchy side panels that fit most 25-inch sleeping pads.

BA'S elk park sleeping bag
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Im a big guy, 6 foot , 240 lbs barrel chest .... big guy. I looked high and low for a bag i could actually stretch out and turn over in without it rolling over with me. The other problem was it had to to backpack light and good to at least -10. The combination of those 3 made it near impossible to find. Oh and it had to ship to canada on top of all that. I searched here and on the net until i finally came across BA's elk park bag at Backcountry. They were the only ones that had the bag and would ship to Canada. I researched the reviews on it extensively and decided to order it. Wasn't Dissapopinted! Backcountry's service was quick and the bag was awesome. Elk park is a sleep system bag with a thermarest insert in an underneath pocket . keeps it from sliding away from you which was very useful . The bag is super comfortable with ton of room to stretch and roll around in. I was leading a team from school for 1 week on their annual grad trip to lake O Hara in Banff national park at the end of September, as you can imagine it was cold. Lows of -5C at night highs of 0C during the day . Rained and snowed the whole time. Every morning there was so much condensation in the tent soon as u touched the walls it would rain in the tent. everything we had was wet : ( The exterior of the bag got wet but the inside remained dry and warm the whole time. If your a big person looking for a really good spring and fall bag this is it hands down. It would be to warm for summer camping though.
