Travel fast and light, and then sleep like a baby.
The luxuries of car camping may be nice, but they come with a steep price—crowded campgrounds, dusty campsites, neighbors with little fluffy dogs yapping all night, pungent outhouses, and the general feeling that you're sleeping in the suburbs, rather than a remote mountain area. Escape the riff raff (or at least be the riff that proceeds the raff) with the lightweight and roomy Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 2-Person 3-Season Tent. Big Agnes built this tent with the wilderness enthusiast in mind and gave it a high-volume design to increase living space when you're waiting out a storm or just sipping on a little boxed wine from the comfort of your sleeping bag after a long day on the trail.
Building off the success of the original Copper Spur, Big Agnes gave this high-volume version of the tent a four-way hub design that increases the strength of the tent by 25% and livable space by 20% from the original Copper Spur, so you can sleep easy when you're camped on a high-elevation pass and wind starts to push the walls of the tent sideways—well, as easily as you can. When the winds do let up and you muster up the willpower to take a leak, the two large doors will make it easy to slip outside before your tent mate thinks the wind blew you away. And if that tent partner just happens to have a bit of a snoring problem, then just throw your music player in the oversized mesh pocket with cord routing and keep that playlists of bowling noises and whale noises cranked up as you slip off into The Land of Nod.

The Way to Go for a 2P UL Tent
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
The "new and improved" Copper Spur is, in my opinion, the way to go if you are looking for the lightest option that doesn't sacrifice on roominess, access, freestanding, ect.. When comparing directly against other similar options(Hubba Hubba NX, Nemo Dagger 2p), you are getting a tent that is about 12 oz lighter(packed weight) while providing adequate head space and enough overall room for two 6 ft tall adults to sleep comfortably.
The only real complaint I have about this tent is that it tapers too much at the feet(from 52in at the head to 42 in at the feet), which is fine if you have 2 rounded sleeping pads but a little tight with two rectangle options(20 inches is regular width). The other two tents are 50 inches wide at both ends.
Otherwise, it ventilates extremely well and prevents condensation buildup, sets up in a jiffy, and offers adequate vestibule space. I really love the little media pockets that are found all over the tent - they are great for storing your headlamp, beanie, phone, ect... The new structure design also seems to be more sturdy and durable than the previous iteration. The floor is a thinner fabric(10 D) so I'd recommend bringing a footprint along, which at 6 oz, still keeps your weight below the other options.
