Big Agnes Anvil Horn Sleeping Bag: 15F Down

Anvil Horn Sleeping Bag

The Anvil Horn is Big Agnes’ sleeping bag that balances comfort, weight, and warmth needs. It’s built with the Flex Pad Sleeve that eliminates the need for insulation down the back, saving weight by using your sleeping pad to keep you warm. DownTek traps in heat on the top and sides, using high-loft down that effectively insulates you against the cold. DownTek is made of down that’s treated so it resists collapse when exposed to moisture, but the shell of the Anvil Horn has a DWR finish to keep it from needing to. The bag is spacious, yet streamlined to reduce cold spots while leaving room for motion in the Free Range hood and footbox.
  • Sleeping bag for camping and backpacking
  • DownTek has a high warmth to weight ratio
  • Treated down resists compressing when wet
  • Insotect Flow construction minimizes cold spots
  • Flex Pad Sleeve connects your bag to your pad
  • Free Range Hood and Footbox let you move your extremities
  • Item #BAG00EV

Best sleep I've had on the trail

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
True to size
Size Bought
Wide Long
6` 1"
200 lbs

This sleeping bag is everything they describe. I'm 6'1" 200lb, got the wide-long and it is SO roomy yet still so warm. I just used it on my hike in the Uinta mountains, where it got down to the 30s, and I was so comfy. I'm a mover when I sleep but with the Big Agnes sleep system I stayed on top of my pad all night long. Getting good sleep on the trail has always been an elusive thing, but not any more!

Integrated pad or bust

I've used it several times

I was originally skeptical of sleep systems with integrated pads like the Anivl down series from Big Agnes, but after using this bag and the Q-Core SLX air core, I'm sold! I was skeptical because I toss and turn while I sleep and was worried about how it would do with my sleep pattern. the result was this was the best night of sleep I ever had under the stars. The pad and bag allow you to move around freely but keeps the bag in place. Its basically like a cocoon of warmth that allows for adequate movement. Plus I was impressed with how warm the system work. 10/10 would recommend!

Soooooo comfy

Everyone thought I was insane for camping outside when it was sub freezing. Jokes on them because I was snug all night. Big Agnes did a good job with this anvil horn sleeping bag. It offered plenty of room to be comfortable, unlike many tight mummy bags available. Getting out of the bag was hard in the morning because of how comfortable it is.

Probably Gonna Use it at home

I've used it several times

Well- this was so comfy. A little bulky- but it was great since I was car camping. honestly- I will use this at home- better than a blanket on my bed right now

Big Agnes does it again!

I've used it several times

Light weight and very pack-able. It even has room for your sleeping pad, which is extremely convenient as it helps your pad stay in place, no more waking up in the middle of the night realizing you are no longer on your pad. It is also very warm, 15 degree is the perfect temp in my opinion as it's not an overkill on trips.

Down System Bag with Flex Pad Sleeve

Big Agnes System bags with DownTek™ insulation offer a roomy, rectangle-shaped sleeping space with an integrated Flex Pad Sleeve on the bottom. With technical fabrics and construction, compressible insulation and tons of comfort features, these comfortable sleeping bags are designed to be lightweight enough for backpacking but cozy enough you'll want them in the campground too. The streamlined silhouette and Flow™ construction increase the thermal efficiency keeping you warm from head to toe. The Flex Pad Sleeve unites easily with your pad, and as you change positions over the course of the night, will keep you from rolling off your pad.

Can you zip 2 of these together if you buy a Right and a Left?

Does the bag come with a pad?

Is the Big Agnes Anvil temperature EN rated? Gary
