    Infinite potential.

The 2017 Bianchi Infinito CV Disc Road Frameset is redefining how we conceptualize race bikes. In stark contrast to the super-aggressive, slammed geometries we so often associate with racing, this frameset offers a more relaxed position with a slightly taller head tube and elongated wheelbase for increased comfort while still maintaining efficient power transfer. The Infinito CV Disc is right at home railing corners, conquering cobbles, or meandering scenic roads on your favorite gran fondo and, with international rules set to lift disc brake restrictions in the near future, this bike will soon be legal to race regardless of an event's sanctioning body.

The geometry's focus on rider comfort is complemented by Bianchi's strategic use of vibration-damping Countervail technology. Countervail, a patented material developed by Materials Science Corporation (MSC) and Bianchi, is a viscoelastic carbon layer that's sandwiched between the standard high-modulus carbon layers to devour vibration and road noise without compromising stiffness.

The Infinito CV Disc also enjoys the same Carbon Nano Technology used in the construction of Bianchi's top-end, race-specific Oltre XR. This process uses nano-scaled particles to reduce the microscopic gaps between the resin and the carbon, increasing strength and fracture-resistance by a claimed 49% compared to standard epoxy resin. Of course, the added safety of disc brakes means you're that much less likely to rely on the added fracture resistance.

The benefits of disc brakes are gaining momentum on the road, and Bianchi's Infinito CV Disc is the latest high-level frame to be offered with disc compatibility. The reasons are simple. Disc brakes aren't affected by damaged rims, they don't cause damage to rims, and you can run carbon rims without worrying about the loud engagement and low-power braking issues that have plagued wheelset innovation. Sure, you can generate enough power to lock-up your wheel with rim brakes, but using a disc lets you modulate that power more carefully, avoiding lock-ups and ensuring smooth, safe stops.

    A true Italian bike

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I asked Scott Golsan to find me a unicorn - a true race bike with a longer, more stable wheelbase and enough compliance for double centuries. He helped me spec out the Bianchi Infinito CV Disc, including a big 160mm front rotor.
500 miles in, I can confidently say I found that unicorn. It is every bit as torsionally stiff as my Wilier Cento Uno (the best race bike I've ever ridden), comfortable geometry, and enough braking action to stop a Mack truck. Yesterday in a group ride we ran into a 6 mile stretch of torn up scarified pavement (pre-paving), and the Infinito really showed its mettle. I effortlessly shot out in front of my group, with no chain slap or severe vibration, while others had bottle cages detach or accessories come loose as they slogged through the quicksand of terrible blacktop. The Countervail technology is not just marketing hype.
There is a slight weight penalty for the frame, but not enough to really notice. I've PR'd several Cat 1 and HC climbs in the first 2 weeks on the bike, which tells me the oversize BB and torsional rigidity more than makes up for the few extra grams. The DT Swiss R32 wheel set is surprisingly stiff and fast for the price point, and the new Vittoria G+ tires in 28mm are consistently .5 -.7 mph faster than Vittoria Open Corsa 25mm tires on the same wheels and course.
Bianchi makes frames in odd sizes. I've always ridden a 54cm, but moved to a 53 for this frame. It was the right decision, and I'd suggest moving down a centimeter.
This is the second bike I've purchased from CC, and once again they went over the top to make sure all components were compatible and the bike matched my requirements. Big thanks to Scott for patiently putting up with myntimeter instead of up for most riders.questions and revisions for 6 months.

I'm SO happy to hear that we were able to hit this one out of the park for you! It was a lot of fun working together to put your dream bike together over those months. I look forward to hearing about the journey and to assisting with all your cycling needs.

    Italian comfort & effortless style

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Wes the product manager did a superb job of helping me spec out a complete build of this frame, and thanks to the professional builders at CC, it came out flawless, and it was just what I was looking for. I was coming from a pretty decked out Specialized Roubaix with rim brakes. I was looking for something a little more compact in the chain stays, disc brakes, thru axles, tubeless, and di2. I was also wanting a endurance sportive type frame, but that leaned a little more aggressive. After riding the bike around 500 miles so far I can report that it is superb. I can only qualify the quality of this bike in my particular build. Reynolds Assault Wheels, Hutchinson tubeless 25 tires, enve stem, 3T aero bars, di2. It soaks up the bumps, springs to action when you get on it, and the stiffness is excellent in combination with the thru axles. I love the bike, and the build. If your looking for an amazing disc, thru axle frame in the endurance geometry category, you cant go wrong with this frame. The countervail seems real, its an incredibly smooth bike. I cant give it a head to head to the Roubaix, as its a very different component build. You cant go wrong with CC either, terrific service and build quality.

    Great Bike!

This is a great all around bike-well suited for all types of riding. It has a slightly more relaxed geometry so very comfortable in doing longer distances on the bike and the CV technology makes it very smooth on the road.
