Advancements in helmet technology have trickled down in recent years, and at this point in time, it's impressive what you can get in a helmet under $100. The Bell Spark MIPS Helmet has a sleek looking design that still offers extended coverage for the side and back of your head, all while including the newest version of the MIPS rotational impact system that integrates cleanly with the fit adjusters for a low-profile, comfortable fit. Bell manages to pack in a slew of additional features that are typically only found on their premium helmets, leaving us with a lid that's ready to charge the whole mountain with confidence.

Bell constructs the helmet using a tough polycarbonate shell molded to EPS foam that is able to withstand both high and low speed impacts, achieved by using progressive layering of variable density EPS foam between the shell and your head. The shell is littered with vents, employing a Dual Flow Ventilation system that draws in the air through intakes and channels it across your head to keep you cool while riding. On the outside of the helmet, there is an integrated breakaway camera mount, and Tri-Glide straps that are easy to adjust and won't twist up. Perhaps our favorite feature is the Sweat Guide, which pulls sweat away from the liner toward the front of the helmet to fall off, preventing moisture from dripping onto your eyewear from the brow pad.

The Spark MIPS is equipped with, you guessed it, MIPS. MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. MIPS uses a slip-plane inside the helmet that allows the helmet to rotate upon certain directional impacts, helping to disperse those forces more effectively. MIPS is integrated with the Float Fit Race retention adjuster, which lets you adjust the height, pad width, and tension of the helmet on your head for a highly customizable fit.
