Rando Rope

You'll be grateful you stowed Beal's Rando Climbing Rope inside your ski pack when your touring partner takes you down a couloir only to face a 15-meter vertical drop. At a mere 37 grams per meter, the Rando barely weighs down your pack, and it's more compact than your avy gear, so you can still bring that second lunch you know you'll want.  Although not normally used for lead climbing falls, the Rando has the UIAA certifications for twin rope use, so pair it up with another twin and head up glaciers or the Grand Teton confidently.

  • Ultralight, compact rope for glacier travel and ski touring
  • Certified for twin rope use if rock or ice climbing

Nice alpine rope

I've used it several times

Great alpine rope for rappelling into couloirs. Nice and lightweight, packs down small.

Nice rope

I've used it several times

I bought this for a recent kayak trip and used it to tie the boats off while camping overnight. This rope is probably a little overkill for that but it worked well and it was a good price for that amount of rope.

Great Line

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Looking for a line to get you into your next couloir? This is the ticket! I am stoked with how this packs down, as well as the durability.

Great Short Rope

Just what I wanted as a short everything rope. Sturdy and light.

Nice little rope for backcountry skiing.

I've used it several times

This rope is superlight and takes up minimal space in my touring pack. It's nice to have on hand just in case you need to be on belay when you make a ski cut. Living in Utah, I have yet to you use it for any glacial travel, but I'd imagine you'd want something with a dry finish if you're going to use it for that. Otherwise, I'd say this is a solid little cord.

Good Rope

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Rope is effective in a 2 person glacier crossing. However, i would not recommend heavy rock climbing with rope. After all it is only 8mm. I like it!

Does this rope have a dry treatment?

Hey Brett! So, this rope does not have a dry treatment on it, no. There is a version of that though, called the Beal Randon Glacier Golden Dry Climbing rope. Thanks for the question! If you have any others, let me know sure directly, phone number and email are above!
