Ellipse XT Harness

With a trad-specific construction, Beal's Ellipse XT Harness holds your cams right where you want them when you're climbing sandstone splitters. The gear loops are set farther behind compared to most harnesses so your cams stay out of the way in wider sections. Beal's Web-Core technology decreases weight without hindering overall strength, and a wider waist ensures comfort on multi-pitches.

Great value, supple waist and leg loops

I've used it several times

I was considering replacing my earlier harness for a harness that should have the following: - buckles that can't rust, - 4 buckles for precision fitting and thick/thin clothes as well as centered belay and haul loops, - supple and easy to slide buckles, - not bulky when packed, - able to take lots of quickdraws and other gear for multipitch (plus spread the load with hot spots on the hips/ilium), - spreads load evenly through the leg and waist loops when falling, - comfortable for working routes, hanging belays, - much better price point than Arcteryx’s harnesses - some visual appeal might be nice I just found it in the Ellipse XT! It’s hard to find a review of this harness, and perhaps it’s underrated because Arcteryx has more people using it. That being said, I’ve never used and Arcteryx, and beside their price point, they do not have any harness with 4-buckles for that perfect fit. The Ellipse XT is as comfortable as my Mammut Realization Shorts - but will be very useful when climbing outdoors! If any downside, it would be the haul loop being low strength - but it ought to be fine for tag/haul lines for the leader.
