the grigri killer

I've used it several times

Not only is this device cheaper, it works so well. The design is all metal and feels much more sturdy, it is more compact, has a good catch, and works well for top rope and for lead belaying. It also doesn't twist your rope like the grigri can tend to do. A new favorite piece of climbing gear.

Worth every penny!

I've used it several times

The simple fact that the Birdie is $10-$25 less expensive than similar devices should be enough reason, but if you need more, I love the birdie's small design and snappy catch. The Birdie has a crazy wide range and can accommodate everything from super thin crag ropes to burly topropes at the gym. Basically, 10/10 would recommend.
