    Great for everyday use!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These gloves are awesome! I wear them just about every day during the winter here in SLC; scraping ice and snow off the car in the morning, walking to and from work, for shoveling snow and just walking around. They're lightly insulated, just enough to keep my digits warm in 20-30 degree temps. Once treated with the (included) Nikwax waterproofing they shed moisture really well, and I haven't any issue with them wetting through. And they look great too!

Gave as gift- jealous of it!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

You know it's a good gift when you're slightly jealous - Material is super soft and high quality. Cuff is nice and not many out there like it- not too long or short. Looks cool and super practical without looking too much like a "Dad Gift". My brother-in-law was pumped. He'll be able to use them working in the yard during the winter AND on the mountain snowboarding. Total win.

    Solid gloves for ski touring

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I consider these my 'middle' glove for ski touring. I always have a pair of super warm mitts, a light spring glove, and a 'middle' glove when I head out. Basin and Range's Leather Work Glove is ideal for winter ski tours where you stay on your skins the majority of the day. The short cuff is comfortable and helps to keep the gloves from getting too sweaty, but I think it is a bit too short for crawling up steep chutes where your hands might be in the snow or handling Whippets. For spring skiing I like to skin up with pipe gloves and then switch to these on windy, chilly ridges before transitioning for the descent. Yes, your Leather Work Gloves will get quite a bit of use and are a solid addition for a great price. Recommended!

    so far they're good..

I haven't been able to try these out in true conditions. I have shoveled my driveway and they kept my hands warm. I applied the Nikwax leather balm so hopefully, they stay waterproof once I get them into the snow some more. I won't be using this snowboarding, but probably snowshoeing and stuff like that. I'll update once I get them in the snow.

      Great Gloves

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'3"
      • Weight: 190lbs

I bought L and initially thought they were a bit too tight. Now that I've worn them enough, they fit snug and keep my hands warm! They are exactly what I wanted.

      Casual glove, not for work

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'5"

These babies don't hold up once wet. They are comfy and keep hands warm on the nippy days. Not built for extreme weather.

      Solid glove so far

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 135lbs

Bought for my wife who needed a good pair of work gloves. So far, so good.

      Dang! Too Small

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs small

I love these gloves. The construction is stout and the style works for me. Unfortunately, they run just small enough that I have to return them and get them in Large.

Exactly what I was looking for.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Given as a gift for my dad who's job is based outside year round these were the perfect purchase. I love the cinch at the bottom to tighten the glove instead of your usual velcro. The gloves are durable and seem to keep his hands warm in temps (so far this winter) down to 25 degrees even in wet snowy weather. Would definitely recommend.

      Great Stocking Stuffer

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I gave these as a gift to my sister for X-Mas and she has been pretty stoked on these gloves since! The quality of the leather is great, and combined with the water-proofing provided these are her go-to winter gloves. Whether its shoveling, scraping snow, or just keeping her hands warm these have held up great. They are great to have in the summer on camping trips for any chores and work that you might encounter. One thing to note is she is a pretty small gal, so these are just a bit too big in the fingers, but fit great in the wrist, especially since they cinch down. Overall great gift!

      Tough Gloves

      • Weight: 210lbs

Great all leather gloves, added the included waterproofing paste and they hold up well to snow, regular use at 1-2 hours in snow and they stay warm and dry. Good snug fit and not loose like cheap leather gloves. Only problem was 1st set the pull day came off on day one, Backcountry sent me a new pair free, all is good on 2nd pair. I would buy these again!

      Great basic work gloves

These were given as a gift but I was provided feedback. The gloves are great quality for a reasonable price. They came with a package of excellent waterproofing which was a pleasant surprise. They fit snug, are durable and very warm. The snug fit is great because they don't get caught in the bailing twine like bulkier gloves have in the past. Overall the recipient of the gift is quite pleased!

        Best winter working gloves

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Height: 6'0"
        • Weight: 170lbs

My family does a lot during the winter so I snagged a pair of these for myself and for my dad. We have taken them hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, you name it. Super durable and the waterproof coating is super easy to apply.

        A Classic Done Right

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Large

These are my shoveling, snowblowing, and general cold work gloves. The insulation in these is light and also a wide range of dexterity to these gloves, with the leather giving a nice supple feel to them. The draw cord is great to since tight and keep the snow out; and with an application of NicWax these gloves are quite waterproof. This is a great winter glove which I would recommend to others looking for something with a multitude of uses without being overly technical.

        Too cold

I love these gloves, my boyfriend has the men's version and brags about them all the time, so I bought these thinking they were the equivalent. We went skiing this year in below 30 temps and my hands were frozen. I had to switch out to my old gloves. Really wish they would make a women's version of the Wasatch glove.

If this was your choice for below freezing skiing that choice is kinda on you. They're walking the dog, shovelling the walk gloves. I wouldn't even put them in a ski bag because they're very obviously not ski gloves.

          Good Gloves

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these gloves originally for work because I needed a good leather insulated glove. The insulation is not as much as I was expecting but the gloves are still pretty warm. They come with some waterproofing wax which I would recommend using before you take these out on the slopes or anywhere. They fit pretty true to size and break in really quick which is great.
