Home is where you pitch it.

Load up the Basin and Range Escalante 3 Tent and get away from the day-to-day grind. Built to handle mountain rain, desert winds, and coastal rain, this sturdy backcountry shelter is ready for almost any adventure. The fully sealed rain fly prevents moisture from seeping through the tent walls, and the light and durable 7000-series aluminum poles ensure the Escalante doesn't collapse on you halfway through the night. The Escalante is fitted with two large doors so you don't have to come face to face with your tent mate's morning breath when you're trying to get outside to make coffee, and the dual vestibules on both sides of the tent leave plenty of room to store gear.

    Great tent

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I feel like this tent would be easy and fast to set up for someone who has never set up a tent before. By partnering with a reputable company, Basin and Range has put out another quality product. I took it up to City of Rocks recently and it did great in moderate winds without any additional tie-down support. For backpacking, I could see this as a three-person tent, but for just car camping, it would be snug with three adults. This is very comparable to my 3P Marmot Tungsten tent but at a much better price

    Fantastic tent

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I loved this tent It was super easy to set up! It took me like 30 seconds. Its fairly lightweight. and it was very roomy. I would definitely recommend to somebody who is looking.

    snowy camping

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It ended up snowing when I got to try this out, it was only a light flurry but it was extremely durable and warm and nice to have a place to store things when it's snowing out!

Good tent for a good price

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Had to the opportunity to take this tent out to Escalante National Monument in the spring to see if it held up to it's iconic name. The tent was more than up for a 3-day pack trip and even held tough through a heavy rainstorm. The tent is a great, casual tent at a good price. One thing I'd like to see improved upon is that there wasn't a drawstring on the storage bag, which was inconvenient and a bit disorganized. Overall I'd recommend this for short camping trips, less than 3-4 days.

Good tent for a good price

    Simple and efficient

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great all around tent, at a very competitive price. Light enough for short backpacking trips, super easy to set up, and plenty of room inside.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have any further questions or concerns, I am glad to help out.

Easy to set up, do it all, inexpensive

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I took this tent to Southern Utah for some winter camping. Temps were around 0 and frosty. We didn't get to the first spot until it was pitch black out, and I easily put this tent up in the dark by myself. The only thing I would change for myself is that the vestibules are huge! But if you are car camping and have unlimited space in your vehicle, why not?!

Loved it enough to buy it!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Borrowed this tent for a quick trip to Moab in November. Easy to set up, Roomy enough for 2 adults, our dog and our duffel. Decided it was the perfect tent for us! Can't wait to take it to Colorado for our next 14er!

Battled the elements at 11k feet

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My wife and I took this tent backpacking to Naturalist Basin in the Uinta Mountains in August. We experienced rain, hail, snow and sunshine and the Escalante 3 stood up to it all like a champ. The three person has plenty of room for 2 adults, 2 backpacks and a large dog. Overall a solid tent. Not the most lightweight tent on the market, but a good option at a good price.
