    Welcome to Chic Street.

Just because you're visiting the snowy dreamland of Lake Louise in Banff doesn't mean you have to compromise on function or style. The Women's Baffin Coco Boot is a haute-couture solution to your cold weather needs. The Coco is built for enduring cold temperatures ranging from 41F to -58F. Fashioned with a waterproof suede upper, this boot hits right below the knee and is equipped with a multi D-ring lace drawcord, perfect for easy-on, easy-off in the cabin mudroom. The heat-moldable, removable liner is crafted with B-tek Lite insulation to keep you warm while wandering around in Canada's pristine winter wonderland while the Superlite shell features a snowshoe ledge, just in case you decide sinking into knee deep snow is overrated.

    Not quite up to P(aj)ar

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My tried and true winter boots finally started wearing down enough on the sole to warrant another purchase. I chose the Baffin Coco's to replace my Pajar Grip boots.
Okay, so the Pajar's were not as warm as these are at all. They were much thinner with light insulation while these are fully insulated and warm as hell! Sooo super warm and comfy, I love that aspect about them.

The thing that bothers me about these boots, especially in comparison to the Pajar's is that the rubber on the sole seems to be really soft. After one season of use, it's already worn down enough to surprise me. The Grip boots lasted 6 solid Utah winter's use trudging across campus and around the city before wearing down to the point of concern. My Baffins are basically already there.

I suppose it comes down to trade-offs, these are super warm but maybe less durable than the Pajars and they may end up wearing down before I can get what I feel would be my money's worth.

Will update my review at the end of this season with photos and how they fared for another season.

    Stay Warm and Look Good

    • Fit: Runs small

Save yourself the time and order one size larger than what you normally wear, as most reviews online suggest. That is the only reason I give this boot 4 stars. It has a weird design that leaves extra space in the heel of the boot, but not enough in the toe of the liner. But once you get the size larger, you will love them. They won't rub on your heel, which is nice. The best part, other than being cute and waterproof, is that they keep your feet warm! I've had them in subzero CO weather with a cozy pair of wool socks and they did just fine for several hours. I've also thrown them on for quick town runs in warmer slush weather and they did not overheat and kept my feet dry. They also have a cool ledge on the back outer heel for taking them off hands-free and also keeping your snowshoes on. Ditch the Sorels. You'll be much happier with Baffins!
