Honestly nothing special
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Height
- 5` 7"
- Weight
- 165 lbs
They are just average pants, nothing justifying $120, or $60 if they are half off. They feel like pants you could probably get from Banana Republic for $35-40. Not bad pants...just not anything special?

Great gift
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got these for my boyfriend and he quite enjoys them. He mentioned that they fit better after the first wash but they hold up to the work he does on a farm.

Another great Backcountry product!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

- Size Bought

- Weight

Got these primarily as work pants, with secondary use as trail or outdoors-ing pants. They fit quite well, and the material feels rugged and durable enough that I don't think I would every worry about them ripping or getting scuffed if going up against a rough surface. The front pockets could be *slightly* deeper, as an iPhone XS Max barely fits in until it nestles itself at a slight angle. Kinda wish they had a phone pocket on the thigh like some of the Kuhl pants, but overall, I would definitely get more pairs of these.

Great Pants - Seams Could Be Stronger
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

I've put these pants through the wringer as everyday wear. The seams on the inside of the pants could be better - I've split two different pairs on the inside of my quads. Easily repaired - but I would give these 5-stars if they held up a little better on the inseam.

These are a little stiffer than what I think of when I think of hiking pants and they can be a little on the warm side but they are great for hiking. They have a great cut that trims up any bagginess seen it other pants. I also wear them as casual pants and they look great without looking too much like you just stepped off trail. I use these for colder hikes and when I think I am going to hit dense bush where I could get scratched up.

New work pants
I wear these as jean or chino replacements around the office. they are much more comfortable, just as stylie, and can take a regular beating. The fit is pretty great, and fit my tree trunks for thighs with not tightness or uncomfortable positions.

I haven't bought any Backcountry pants in a while and I'm glad that the quality is still high. These are everything the marketing description says, with the exception of "burly." While they appear durable, they're a medium weight, at best, which is not my understanding of burly. But I'm very happy with them. Midnight color is great. Legs are slightly on the long side, but not a problem.

Backcountry has made a killer pair of pants here. From working in the office to going straight to the campsite these pants have held kept up with durable quality and a nice tapered look in boots or casual shoes. And the added zippered pocket has been excellent for keeping my wallet or keys in a place for quick access. I even took them out paint balling in the woods and the inseam was comfortable when kneeling and crawling. For sure getting another pair or two to rotate out during my adventures.

Never tried the Backcountry pants. These really surprised and impressed me. And I’m comparing these with Triple aught and Filson. Design, styling and fit are spot on and I’m picky on pants. You can wear these working, hiking or to the office. Nice medium weight cotton. Plenty of room in the thighs for those who can’t wear skinny jeans. New favorites. Thinking about ordering the other color they are that good.

Really comfy and seem to be very durable as well. I don’t have tiny legs by any means but the guy in the picture makes these look super tight and bunchy. That is not the case with the fit on me. Plenty of room in the knees and thighs unless my daily activities evolve into high kicks and absurdly deep squats. In that case, the cotton/spandex blend works some magic. Been wearing these a lot lately for all activities including tree climbing, changing the oil and looking snazzy. I like the doubled up material on the right pocket for a knife. Definitely have some jeans that are worn out there.

I've worn these pants out a few times now both in the city as well as on a casual bouldering session. On first touch they feel more rugged than your average pair of pants. I have no doubt they'll stand the test of time. The added zipper pocket features are a great bonus as well.

Are there belt loops on these pants? None of the pictures show if there are belt loops or not! Thanks

Hey John, Inseam will be a 32 Ben
April 7, 2019
I read 30, 32 for sizing but not sure if either will be right fit. I have a 31 waist w/ about 30 inseam.

Hey Alan, It looks like we don't have any 31 waists. You could definitely try out the 32 and if it doesn't end up working out you can definitely return them.
