I made this purchase when most of the country was recently experiencing a massive cold spell. This parka is fantastic and is keeping me toasty whether it’s single digits or 30 degrees. It’s perfect as a size XS, and runs a bit long on my 5 foot 1 frame, but doesn’t cause me any issues. I love that it’s oversized so I can fit big sweaters underneath and have plenty of room. To top it all off, the exterior shell keeps me dry and overall, the coat is cute! Also love the position of the pockets, nice and appropriate location. No issues with zippers that other reviews mention.

Bought for my trip to Lapland - Norway Sweden & Finland, above the Arctic circle! I’m 5’4” and 125 lbs. I got a Medium - yes it is slightly large — but I love the fact I could wear a thick wool sweater, plus a thin jacket layer under this for added warmth - and the arms & shoulders did not feel tight! I don’t find it heavy - I mean it is a very well insulated long coat, so what do u expect?! Loved wslking around Finland in 18F temps - it felt like being wrapped in an awesome sleeping bag :-))

So disappointed with the color

The color as shown in every single photo of this page is brighter and has more of a sheen than in person. In fact, it doesn't have a sheen, and the color is fairly muted. Disappointing. I returned it.

While it does run really big, it’s more so in the arms and shoulders. I don’t found that it ran that large in the body chest area. I am through and through a large, but went with a medium and I’m glad I did! I would be swimming in a L, but when I go to zip the medium up, there’s not much wiggle room or room for a big sweater in the chest and hip area. BUT, this is a great buy! I scored it for like $119 and don’t regret this purchase at all!

I loved this coat. It’s one size too large but because I had read the reviews I knew that and ordered accordingly. Fit perfectly. I wore it three times for short periods, just into town and home. Upon the third wearing the main zipper stopped working and one of the pocket zippers completely broke. Both zippers would have to be replaced in order to use the coat. Can’t even sip it up as is. Bummed and returning.

I absolutely love this coat. I was looking for something to keep me warm for sporting events and it works great for that. I was worried it would be too bulky, but I feel like it's a perfect balance of weight plus flexibility/movement so you don't feel restricted. I had to size down from my regular size, so I think it runs a little bit big. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

In love with this parka!!! Super impressed with Backcountry's brand - the quality, design, and material are all fantastic. The jacket keeps me warm without that bulky feeling, which is exactly what I wanted. It's super easy for me to throw on when running to work, gym, or grocery store. I found it to run VERY large. I started with the M, which I aligned with on the size chart, and ended up sizing all the way down to an XS! The sleeves are a bit poofy in comparison to the rest of the jacket, but it's a look and I can tell it's intentional. I also like that the zipper doesn't go all the way down - it's a cool design feature and makes the jacket look unique IMO. The hood is big enough to actually be functional - it also has a sinch in the back and is removable. Two pockets on the outside, one inner pocket. Stoked to add this staple to my closet - thanks Backcountry!!

I’ve been wearing this jacket everyday since it turned cold. I’m short, and I love that it’s full length on me. I wish it had snaps plus the CF zipper, but that’s not a deal breaker. It’s cozy and warm and that’s what matters to me!

I actually like the style and it would definitely keep you warm. I ordered an extra large because I usually need the room in the shoulders and upper arms but this coat is massive. It’s also quite heavy. But if you need something that also serves as a blanket this is your jacket. I was tempted to order a smaller size in the green but I don’t think I want to carry around that much weight when I’m walking around.
