    Backcountry All Around 40L Duffel

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great duffel! This is my go-to bag for car camping, weekend getaways or a carry on for the plane. It's made from durable material so it can be tossed around without worry and is the perfect carry on size. It has several pockets and a big shoe pocket which is great when you're trying to keep your dirty shoes away from the rest of your gear. I like that this bag can be used as a backpack or a duffel. It serves many functions making it truly the perfect all around bag.

    Great bag!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is the perfect weekend trip bag for me. I can throw all the clothing and anything else I need for a long weekend, plus still have room. If you're looking to use it as a gear bag, you might check out the slightly larger 60L All Around bag. Plus it's water resistant which is a huge plus! I'm very stoked on this bag!

    Perfect for Travel

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag fits nicely in an overhead bin which is perfect for light travel days. Material is durable and backpack straps allow you to have your hands free which is always helpful when you're in a running around!

    An adventure necessity!

Designed by Gearheads with functionality, durability and style in mind, this duffel is a combination of all our favorite features from the leading bags on the market. The removable backpack straps are simple to adjust, making even the heaviest loads an ease to carry and three internal pockets help keep your gear organized. What drew me to Utah was the desert and this bag held up beautifully in the rugged, rocky terrain. What’s impressing me now is the DWR finish and water-resistant side pocket (perfect for stowing hiking or ski boots) that are making this the ideal bag for taking on my first winter in the Wasatch range

      Amazing

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Sleeker, more functional and durable than the REI, Patagonia and other duffle bags. I am in love great over night bag or day ski bag. I would purchase again and again.

      Fantastic!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took this bag to Italy for a week and was walking with it frequently. The straps are comfortable and the bg has a stiff enough outer material that the bag is not flopping around all over while walking. The straps cinched down tight for a checking bag and it doesn't seem they got caught on anything throughout the checking process. The shoulder straps are easily removed and attached to the bag. They are also plenty adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of body sizes. For a 40 litre bag, the interior is very roomy. The side stash pockets are great and the internal storage bag on the larger side pocket is great for shoes, dirty clothes or any other items you want separate from your clean items. There are also plenty of attachment points on the outside for clipping your water bottle, a pair of shoes or anything else you can think of! The small organizational pockets on the lid to the main compartment are also ideal for storing your passport, toothbrush, brushes for climbing or hair, or small items in general. The olive color is also fantastic and very compatible with most outfits. A solid 5 stars and an absolute recommendation for anybody looking for a solid gym bag, gear bucket or international traveller.

      Durable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this bag when traveling and am pleased by how much can fit inside. My favorite feature on the bag is the straps. You can wear as a backpack or use as a typical duffel bag. The straps even unbuckle to remove bulk if that's what you prefer. I also like the material - it's slippery, yet durable and can easily be cleaned if you spill anything on or in the bag. This is a great duffel and I highly recommend!!

      "exceeded my expectations!"

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

The 40L pack from Backcountry exceeded my expectations. It is roomier than I expected. I thought I was going to use as a gear bag, but love it so much for traveling I will probably buy a few more for travel, ski gear and bike gear. The backpack straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. I like that the straps are on the same size as the opening of the pack. It makes it easier to set it down and access it quickly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a durable, multi-purpose bag!

Gonna get one for myself now!

      Great Duffel

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is an all around great duffel. My favorite part is all the pockets, they help with organization. The bag and zippers seem very durable and even waterproof. I also love how nicely the straps work to carry it as a backpack. It is definitely a well thought out duffle, highly recommend!

      Convenient size, great features

The Backcountry Trekker 40L duffel has entered my daily rotation as a gym bag, in addition to replacing my TNF Basecamp duffel when traveling. The 40L is a very manageable size for every day use. I appreciate the water resistant exterior.

The coolest feature is the expandable, but fully separated, shoes / dirty clothes compartment on the end of the bag. It provides plenty of space to keep clean clothes clean!

The little things make it great

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have so many similar duffles, and this bag matches them all in quality, but with some nice extra features, such as backpack straps that are incredibly easy to connect / disconnect.

        Better than the Black Hole

My boyfriend has the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel and he keeps saying how much he wishes he got the Backcountry duffel instead. The 40L is perfect for a long weekend trip, is super comfortable and the backpack straps make it easy while traveling. There is a large side pocket as well as two mesh pockets in the main compartment for small accessories so it is easy to keep things organized. This is one of the best duffels I have owned from a variety of brands, plus I bought he black and it is very sleek, functional, and hip.

          Sweet duffle for many adventures

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love the simplicity of this duffle. Simple smart pocketing, great fabric. The water proof pocket is sweet for once my gear is dirty and wet.

          Pretty cool duffel bag

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag is so versatile, I've found quite a few uses for it even though it's bigger than I thought it would be.

          Very nice

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The details, construction and arrangement for this bag are pretty good. Love the goat details all around. The backpack straps are great to use and very comfortable.

The spacing of this 40L is more than enough to be a "gym bag" (It's a little bit more slim than expected, but not to much) and for a casual weekend travel.

          My New Fishing Gear Bag!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my new salt water fly fishing gear bag.

With plenty of space as well as separated space for dirty clothing, and lots of carrying options including a backpack strap option, this is my new go to gear bag for carrying clothes, reels, flies, and everything else I need for a few days away on the water.

The backpack option is particularly well thought out and comfortable. This is a great option for the active fly fisherman looking for a new go bag that can also be carried on.

          Pretty rad duffle

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

There are a lot of little details that make this bag pretty legit! There was definitely a lot of attention into making this a multifunctional gear bag for so many thing! It's designed with travel in mind with a very durable fabric. I especially like the daisy chain loops to clip gear to the outside. It's great for travel and adventure. The separate compartment for shoes or dirty clothes is my favorite feature. The only downside in my opinion is that the shoulder straps are on the side of the bag where the zipper is, which means when the bag is on my back, the seams of the zippers dig into my back when fully loaded. But I get why they designed it that way, so it's a trade off for have removable shoulder straps where the bag isn't likely to be on the ground getting dirty for a bit of comfort.

          Best Gear Bag ever

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is probably the most versatile duffel I have ever owned. So much so that I am now getting my brother one for his birthday. It is a perfect size for an overnight bag, and still not too big to use as a daily climbing pack or gym bag. It actually fits well as a backpack as well!
