These pants do a pretty good job at fulfilling multiple roles. They look nice enough to wear into the office, but have the technical features and materials to be useful on many different outdoor adventures. The fit is great once you get the sizing dialed in, (a full size up from my normal 34) they are slim and have a nice taper to the lower leg, but are stretchy enough to climb and cycle in comfortably. My biggest issue is the color saturation. In two different colored pairs, the color hasn't held up. On the first wash my ebony pair had white spots along the side and my olive pair have an outline of my phone in the front pocket after 3 wears. I hope that Backcountry can get these sorted because they have all the makings of a fantastic go to pant, they just need a few tweaks.

I'm not sure what type of body you need for these pants to fit well. I'm guessing you need to be at least 5'10 with big legs and glutes. Just a strange fit on these for a shorter guy like myself, and no ability to pick a shorter inseam. I loved the material and comfort of these pants, but after trying them on I had to return. Like everyone else commenting here, these run small. I'm usually a 28 - 29 waist and the 30 was snug, but could have been a bit snugger, which only added to the sizing conundrum, as 28 would have been too tight. Backcountry, I encourage you to try a new pant with the same material but different sizing specs. Unless you have the body of the model, I would not recommend buying these, however.

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. These pants have easily become one of my favorite pair of pants. They can be dressed up for a nicer occasion or worn with Chacos out by the fire. The flexibility of these pants make them super comfortable to wear - and also give you one pant for many different occasions. I've worn these while mainly camping - around the fire, cooking dinner etc and they've fantastic for evenings/ early mornings in the summer. They feel like a casual pant with the breathability of a more athletic pant. They have more of a slim fit to them, which is great for someone with long legs - but may way to size up depending on how snug you like your pants to fit! I also really like how well they clean up! After working in them outdoors or after a camping trip - coming home and washing them makes them look straight out of the bag again. I've had them for a few months now and they still hold their color well - even after being out in the sun for most of the summer. The deep pockets and back zipper pocket make it practically impossible to loose anything in them. From camping, paddling and hiking in them - they cover all the bases and I would highly recommend these pants to anyone looking for a high quality - all encompassing pant!

To start, you will need to order up a size. I ordered a 34 and the waist fits almost a bit snug but baggy in the legs. They run very small compared to other pants, from Marmot and Mountain Hardwear that I wear in a 32. Product seems ok but not my favorite, have liked other pants from Prana better. Length was also longer than noted in the sizing chart. These don’t have very much stretch in them and the color looks like a Boy Scout uniform pant. Was going to return them but backcountry doesn’t do free returns, even in 2021. I got them on sale and I’ll just keep because a $6.99 return shipping fee is crazy. I’ll definitely be shopping backcountry as a last resort in the future.

The pants themselves seem fine, but I'm leaving so harsh of a review because they really need to iron out the sizing issue. It isn't "you might want to order a size up" territory, it's "you definitely need to order a size up". I wear a 32 with room to spare in Levi's, J Crew, Patagonia, whatever, but these I could barely button.

I seem to be a 28-30 waist in most of Backcountry’s pants. I ordered a 30 and it’s way too small not sure if I will be a 32 or 34. The fit and material seem awesome can’t wait to get the right size and try them out.

Flexible, Stylish & Comfortable. I ordered one pair and immediately ordered the other two colors once I tried these on. I'm an athletic build and these are exactly what I've been looking for. They are form fitting for a trim waist with thicker thighs but keeps a tasteful trim down the leg. Casual enough for the office but laid back enough for brews! The struggle to find pants that aren't baggy but fit my thighs is a thought of the past!

This product is given to me by Backcountry but this is my personal opinion and I’m very excited to share with you my experience with this pants! Color - I have the Olive Night which is a deeper/dark green color. It hides dirt pretty well. I love green color and this specific green is by far my favorite. Fit - I have the sz 28 in Mens, I’m 5’6” athletic build. Finding a sz 28 for pants these days is challenging and I’m very glad that Backcountry has this size. On that note, this pants does runs small, so you might want to size up! It’s on the tailored skinny fit but not too tight. I can easily wear this to work and climb, hike etc with it. Verdict - I love the ample amount of pockets in the back without feeling like a cargo pants. It has a zipper yoke on the upper left rear pocket and a deep cellphone pocket on the right rear pocket. I went on a bouldering, fly fishing and dinner date with my wife on this and never felt dirty or too informal. Excellent adventure pants and kudos to the design team on this Backcountry!

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. These pants fit my professional and outdoor style. I love the slim fit and stretchiness. I've worn these pants into the office, on flights, on hikes, sitting in the car for long road trips, and whatever in between. Furthermore, I love all of the pockets without it looking like cargo pants.

when you say size "small" do you mean 28? unsure of size and trying to figure out based on comments here. thanks.

James here from the Backcountry brand product development team. I am writing this review today to help guide your sizing decision on this new product for Spring 2021. This is a casual pant you can wear for your everyday pursuits but also technical enough for hiking or camping. Similar to our Stepstone Workwear pant but more suitable for the office or bar. Sizing is on the small so i would recommend going up one size from your usual. I am a 32 all day but actually go with a 34 in these. Trust me on this one!

A great pant to take anywhere at any time. These are super easy to take out and climb, hike, and have some casual adventures, and then turn right around and head out to town or wherever you need to go all in one pair of pants. Nice enough to wear around the office and comfortable to have on all day, while still being durable and mobile enough to adventure in! Looking to grab a few more for my summer wardrobe.
