Steort's Ridge is a popular multi-pitch in the heart of Backcountry's backyard, the Wasatch Range. Although it's mostly shady throughout the day, climbing all three pitches can feel quite hot in the summertime. The Backcountry Steort Climbing Short is certainly the best option for those warmer days on the rock. Its four-way stretch fabric promotes free movement on the climb, and the short's gusseted construction ensures full mobility on the mountain. The fabric has a DWR treatment to shed moisture and keep a clean look on all your adventures.

Great for hiking and unplanned ocean swims. Material seems very durable and it drys quickly.

I was pretty excited to get these shorts. I have a similar experience to a lot of others I saw in the reviews. The button hole is snug, so it's definitely a two handed operation to get them on or off. I think the sizing is just right, I don't need the draw string, but the 32 fits me just fine (ALL my pants are 32 waist). The front pockets are big enough to carry most cell phones (my OnePlus 6T easily fits). The only reason I'd say they aren't perfect is the lack of back pockets. Sure, these are meant for climbing but they're so comfortable I wear them all the time and back pockets would come in handy.

Great, but needs a back pocket!

I bought these for my husband, who is 180lb and 6'3", in a size 32. He says that they run on the smaller side but fit him nicely. They hit just above the knee. He loves these for casual wear in the summer to run errands, go out to dinner, or hang out. He also wears them for easy, slower hikes and says that the front zippered pockets are fantastic. They are breathable but hold up better than a pair of gym shorts. The only recommendation he has is that these should include a zippered back pocket. It would be nice to stash a small water bottle there during a casual, backpack/hydro vest - free hike.

I just got these shorts in the mail. I really like the color and the fabric reminds me of the prana Zion material but maybe a bit lighter? I was a little bit hesitant to buy them because I wasn?t sure on sizing. Some brands in a 32 some a 33 so I went up to 34 assuming I?d get to use the draw strings. They are much tighter than I expected. I won?t need the draw strings unless they stretch out quite a bit. Also this is kind of picky I know but the hole for the burton on the waist is only big enough for the burton if I. Really push might just be me but kind of irritating. I got them on sale half off so for the money I?m going to keep them but I?m not overly impressed.
