Sleeve Length? :(
I wanted to love this jacket. The styling, fitted shape, and colors are beautiful, but it just didn't work. I tried the XS, which is my normal size (and often too big) in most other brands. The shoulders were perfect, the length was great, and it was tight and fitted (which is amazing and made me very happy). BUT, the arms of the jacket were just way too short. Especially for a winter jacket, where it should come down a bit more over your hand. This jacket sleeve stopped just above my wrist. Unfortunately, I had to return it.

To continue on the review above... I received this jacket to review from back country but this is my own review. It runs small around the chest and the arms are short even upsizing. The material is super soft. The zipper is a bit sticky. The hood is full and nice with little sinch in the back. I liked the pattern (black grey) in person. It does have a bit of an hour glass shape but too small up top.

Itâs just ok
This jacket is cute and soft. The fit is bit off for me. I normally wear a size 6 dress (36C) or medium. I had to size up to large to make it fit around my chest. It was then a bit too long but the sleeves werenât long. Also, since I had to size up the middle part around the belly was too big also. If you are less broad around the chest it should fit you true to

Runs very small
Nice jacket, but it runs extremely small. I wasn't able to zip it from the hips. I had to move the zipper up to my waist in order to try and get them zipped and would have to wear the jacket bunched up if I kept it. I wear an XL so I'm out of luck, but if you can size up you'll be stoked.

Love it... except for arm length!
I received the Backcountry Silver Fork 750 Down Jacket in Colonial Blue from Backcountry, but this review is my own opinion. Overall, this jacket has great potential but needs some tweaking. I love how compactible it is. It easily stuffs into its chest pocket and can be thrown into a backpack or luggage for later use. It is warm but not puffy or bulky and can be used for spring/ fall weather or under a windbreaker. The Colonial Blue is a nice, classic color, but has more of a green hue than blue. The pockets are wide and deep. The fitted hood has a cinch in the back that helps on super windy or rainy days. It appears water resistant though I only used it on moderately rainy days. I really wanted to love the Backcountry Silver Fork 750 Down Jacket; however, a major downfall was its unusual proportions. It is a fitted jacket with appropriate length and width in the waist, but the arm lengths are exceptionally short. The seams are suitable in the shoulders, so I do not think a larger size would fit me better. I had my daughter try on the jacket. She is 4 feet 8 inches and the arm length was great for her, though the rest of the jacket was too big. The main zipper was also a bit finicky, often getting stuck on the bottom, though this did improve with use. I really wish I could wear the Backcountry Silver Fork because it has a lot of utility, but sadly, the fit just is not right.

Great but needs refinement!
My initial impressions of the quality of this jacket were great! Could go with a baffled design but it is stitched as far as how the down is in the jacket, which sometimes can find cold air seeping into where the fabric was stitched. Great design and really warm! My only real gripe with this jacket is the sleeve way way short! So the lady in my life opted to return it, she by no means at all has longer arms, the Backcountry wolverine cirque which has synthetic insulation is a hit in all categories. Just wanted to compare as the wolvy cirque is spot on and this silver fork jacket is close but could be better. Great potential and very comfy! Sizing is spot on true to size, just needs work in the sleeve length as I said. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me.

Cute, Warm, Light, but Some Issues
I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. The tawny port color of this Backcountry Silver Fork 750 Down Jacket is truly a gorgeous color, just as pictured. Warmth to weight factor is phenomenal, as mild-to-moderate wind and cold (30F) air have a difficult time penetrating through and it feels light as a feather. It also folds/deflates to taking up nearly no space, so it would be a wonderful addition to pack for a trip. That said, I would want something warmer for temps below. Breathability is just okay, as it did start to feel a bit stuffy as I kept it on during a 1+ hour drive. I love the hood because it's perfect size for my (smaller) head and it doesn't fall in my eyes nor blow back down in the wind. My real issues with this jacket are 1) the weird, short length of the sleeves and 2) the zipper that won't let me out of the jacket. As for the fit, I am a true small (5'3", 125lb) and I received a Small. There is a caveat when purchasing that says the product runs slightly small. I would draw a line through 'slightly,' because I think I'd need a full size up to truly be comfortable in this jacket. At this size, I am not really able to layer anything under (maybe over). The sleeves are abnormally short compared to other jackets so that it just reaches my wrist. It's not TOO short, per say. I am just used to every sleeved clothing I own being actually (too) long, so it's unique. If you like sleeves that just fit, the Backcountry Silver Fork 750 Down Jacket might be for you! Last thing- the zipper: it's just not a good zipper. During first wear, I got stuck in the jacket several times. During second wear, the zipped zipper separated. It's fine now--just took me a couple of minutes to line the zippers back up. I'm interested to see how long the jacket will last, because the jacket shell material is really nice--just that pesky zipper!

I was so excited to get this puffy! I had thought I finally found the right down jacket for me. But, I was wrong. The fit is very odd, the shoulders and arms fit perfectly. The waist however was super tight - so tight that wearing a pack and layering would be difficult to do without the entire jacket riding up.

I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift but i got great feed back. Looks good, it's warm. I ended up buying 3 more as Christmas presents and they all love them.

Hmm, something just isn’t right...
I wasn’t happy at all with this jacket, which really surprised me after reading all the 5 star reviews. Every jacket I own is a solid women’s small, but the small in this was an odd fit. It was really narrow in the shoulders and arm pits, but fit perfectly in the torso and body, plus the arms were abnormally short by at least an inch. It was like an XS on top and a small on bottom with misfit arms. The zipper seemed cheap and stuck when attempting to unzip each time. Beautiful blue, but that was the only plus I found in this jacket. I feel like I received a factory defect or a totally different jacket than the one other people reviewed :(

Hi Emily. I will reach out to you now, to troubleshoot this issue.

I have to agree with this 100%. Got this for my wife. She is 5"7 150 lbs and she got a Medium, which she does fit in other brands and the exact same thing happened with her. Fits good in the stomach area but 2 inches short on the arms and very tight on the shoulders. Thought we could get a Large but she is working on losing more weight and a Large would be too big in the stomach area. But then again... I got the men's version of this jacket in camo green in a Small and it fit's her PERFECTLY we love it but that's mine! She is literally the same size as me.

I brought this jacket with me on a climbing trip to Moab and Indian Creek! It was pretty cold overnight and in the early mornings, this jacket kept me nice a toasty! Awesome jacket for layering when it is colder or wearing alone! I got the small so that I could layer underneath and I do not like super tight jackets so it worked perfectly for me. An xs would have fit me fine if I liked a more fitted tight feel! Overall really nice jacket. Loved the lighter blue color!

This is one of the warmest puffs I've ever worn. I lived in this jacket during my trip to New Zealand, and it was insanely warm because of the premium 750 down fill. The black splatter print looks awesome in person, and love how there's enough room for base layers underneath. It packs down really well, and has a water-resistant finish to keep you dry on rainy or snowy days.

I like the splatter black color of this puffy! It is a great down jacket to layer with some baselayers and a wind breaker on top. I used it at camp and at the crag on cold desert days and nights and thought it worked out great. I wish I had sized down to the extra small. I think I would still have had room for my layers and it would have kept me warmer even closer to my body.
