LOVE LOVE LOVE
I adore these pants! I am an outdoor nut and these are such versatile pants and super comfortable. I havent washed them yet but right now they are the perfect outdoor pant!
February 29, 2020
I bought my first pair and after about 2 wears and washes the seams came apart in multiple places. Backcountry was gracious enough to replace them and yet again after a couple wears and washes the seams started pulling apart again. I wanted to love these pants, but they did not live up to my expectations!

Comfortable and light
Very nice and comfortable. Great pants for on the go or for just staying at home.

So I have nothing but good things to say about this pair of pants! Amazingly comfortable for walking the dog, hanging around camp, or traveling through the airport. I know some people have complained about the “swishing” sound, but honestly it’s not that bad and the comfort as well as versatility of these pants outweighs that itsy bitsy tiny negative. If you’re on the fence, don’t be...I currently own 5 pairs of the on the go pant. Buy them, you won’t be sorry!

Favorite Pant - Wish for Better Quality
Fit: I think these are hands down the most flattering pants I have ever tried on. I have both the black and midnight blue and have purchased a pair for my sister who also loves them. This pant gets tons of compliments. I often struggle to find pants that are long enough and fit my slim build. I also love the tapered elastic leg cuff. Functionality: They're highly functional and have become my go to pant for all activities. I wear them hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing (I wear gaiters if snow is deep or sloshy), indoor and outdoor climbing - especially great for alpine. These are water resistant so great for damp conditions - not sure how they'd do in a full on rainstorm. They're really light weight so great for when you're climbing in the heat but want extra coverage on your legs. The material has held up surprisingly well against tough rock, although I don't think they're designed to be abrasion resistant. I have a holes starting to rip in the butt from some jtree chimneying, which I'm okay with that wear and tearm and will just patch it if need be. They also have a fair amount of stretch so they offer good mobility. I often layer long underwear under these for cold weather trips, and can usually be okay in freezing-ish temps. Quality: This is where this pant falls short. The stitching is really terrible. Within 2 or so uses the stitching on the inseam starts to fray (typically near the crotch gives out first). However, a few months into wearing these, the seams all over the legs started to fray. I have not actually had a hole rip in the leg yet, so they're still usable, it's just extremely disappointing as many other people mentioned the $80 price point is high for such quality. If this was a less flattering pant or a different outdoor brand I would return immediately. Offering this review in hopes that the next version will keep the flattering fit but provide better quality stitching! What's Missing: Outside of better stitching quality, I really wish these pants had a thigh pocket large enough for an iphone. This is something I'm always envious of when I'm climbing in these pants. The back pocket is not quite big enough for a new generation iphone (I have a normal iphone 10) to securely zip. It's also jsut not a comfortable place to have a phone.

Light and warm
I bought these in two different colors (midnight and olive). I’m Obsessed With them both. They are very comfy and light enough to wear everyday but also warm enough for wearing on airplanes or outside in fall/winter (I swear planes are always cold). Size is true. I’m 5’9 and wear a size large and they fit perfect

Love these pants!
I love these pants! So much, I have two pairs. They are perfect for everything!! Great to just wear as a sweatpants casually but they are can also be awesome for outdoor activities. I have used them while hiking and they have kept me warm plus been super comfortable. they are pretty stretchy as well, so great to move around in. I love the camo print of these pants, super cure and you can dress them up as well! They do run big though, I am usually a medium i pants but I bought those and they were way big on me so I went with the small because I wanted more of a sweatpants baggy look. But I think I could've even gone with the XS and been happy with those.

Cute but Poor Quality
I love the way these pants look, but I am really disappointed in the quality. Within 2 washes, the stitching in the pocket came completely unraveled! I've never seen anything like before. For $80, I expected a higher quality pant. I had really high hopes because they are so cute, but ultimately, I'm disappointed in my purchase.

Did you contact Backcountry? They have a pretty good warranty policy they will probably send you a new pair or credit you. They have always come through for me when something hasn't worked out. Sometimes the GearHeads are a little ditzy but most of the time they turn around is pretty quick. Sad to hear this, though, i've been eyeballing these pants for a couple months...

They are comfortable, and flattering, but they are( as others have said), a weird wind pant fabric, and SUPER staticky. So they cling. Especially with dry airplane air, or cold climates with dry heat, like Michigan where I live. Would I but them again? Probably not. Especially at the $80 price point. I expected a little more higher end pant.

LOVE. THESE. PANTS.
These have been my go-to travel pants. They're light, airy, and extremely comfortable. I've camped with them, hiked, traveled and just lounged around the house--they've held up really well. The only downside is if you're in an area that's hot/humid, they feel a little sticky. But at that point, you really should just be wearing shorts.

I really like the style and fit of these pants, but after multiple wears I realized I can’t deal with the fabric. I live in the high desert, where humidity generally doesn’t get above 20%, and the fabric is relentlessly clingy. Probably going to have to let them go. I also second someone else’s comment that they could use maybe an extra inch- I’m 5’4” and they’re just a tad too short, but I could be ok with that if I liked the fabric.

My new travel pants!
I have been LOVING using these pants all summer traveling on the plane - I really like how light they are and that I barely feel them. They do run a little large and can stretch after multiple days of use but that hasn't bothered me at all. Any time I need to still look nice and put together but not in the mood for jeans or more structured pants these are great.

Didn't expect the material to be so thin - almost like "parachute" or "kite" material - you know, the kind that makes noise when walking like in the Seinfeld episode! If you live in a dry climate, you will get static cling and the material will stick to your legs. I am 5'4" and 105 lbs, I ordered the XS/Short. They fit great along the waistline and hips, but would have liked the length to be just an inch longer, so when sitting cross-legged, they'd still reach my ankles. I was afraid the regular length would be too long. Does anyone know how many inches the regular length adds? Do I like the pants? Yes, but the weird material took me by surprise. It is only a summer pant since it is so thin. Would have preferred at least a 3-season pant.

Hi Celia - thank you for the feedback on the fabric, we are working on different fabric options in 2020 so be sure to look at some of the new "On The Go" styles next year. As for the inseam length of the regular pant, that will measure 32" while the short measures 30".

These were a huge disappointment for me, after reading all the reviews. The fabric on these were a shiny slippery material, like a thin wind pant. Not what I was expecting at all (and could be just me!). They say they are breathable but honestly for this price not taking my chances and returning ASAP.

The pants that do it all
The versatility of these pants is what made me want them in the first place & they've definitely lived up to my expectations. From hiking to yoga to climbing to long car rides these pants are now my go to. They do run a bit large, I am usually a small and ordered as such and have to roll the tops & bottoms to get a good fit. Keep that in mind and you'll love these pants!

Best pants ever!
I love these pants! I never write reviews, but these pants are so great that I feel I have to let the Backcountry world know what a great product this is! Roomy, lighweight, stylish. Love love love.

I would like to thank Backcountry for keeping us thick thigh, big butt girls in mind. This is my second pair of Backcountry pants I have purchased (I equally love the Double Dyno Climbing Pant) and they fit so well. I tend to steer away from pants like these because my thighs and butt tends to need bigger size than my waist. However, these pants fit perfectly. The material is light and breathable. The pant can be worn casual or dressed up. The pant is functional and so comfortable. Keep it up Backcountry! I will be back for more!

My new favorite pair of pants
I saw these on a facebook add and bought them instantly without even really looking at them that close. They arrived in 2 days and I love them SO much. I didn't look that closely so I thought the midnight was black but it's a very dark blue, I like it though. I would say that they run a little big, I got my usual size and I could probably wear thermals or something under them which is awesome. These are going to be a very versatile pair of pants and I'm so excited about them.

Comfy and fits well
I could wear these constantly - they are comfy, light, and the fit is flattering. The material has kept me cool when its been hot, and warm enough when its been cold and windy. So nice to finally find some flattering active/hiking pants. The side pockets are deep enough for an Iphone Max, however I do wish they were zippered to hold the contents in. The back pocket is zippered but a tad bit small. Quick drying and I find my pants constructed sturdily. Will buy again if theres more (bright) colors.

I of course had high hopes after all of the positive reviews and there are definitely some pluses to these pants. They are comfy, light weight and breathable, and do well with any moisture. The options in length are nice and at 5’3 I chose the short and am happy about that. The down side, for me at least, after only wearing them twice (gym bouldering) and washing them once the seam at the crotch is coming undone. I planned on using these solely to climb in so I’m not sure they will hold up very well, or very long. They fit great so I know it wasn’t an issue of being too tight because there’s plenty of room to move around (also a plus) I’m guessing I just got a wonky pair. Overall they are nice just not a durable pant.
