Why We Like It
Durable, soft, and easy to care for with a little balm, these Gore-Tex mittens keep our fingers warm and dry during storm days at the resort, which means more runs and less sitting inside sipping cocoa while we try to warm up. They're easy to clip onto our pack if we head out on a tour, and their handy little wrist leashes are very much welcome on lift rides in which we need our hands free to text the gang or pick our next song.
Product Features
Construction
Benchmark for waterproof, breathable performance
Gore-Tex is a synthetic laminate that features thousands of tiny holes small enough to prevent water droplets from penetrating but large enough to allow water vapor to escape. This combination prevents snow and rain from reaching layers while still allowing hot air and water vapor to escape so that you stay dry from inside and out.
Supple durability
Unlike synthetics, we know leather can produce a uniquely durable product that is going to last more than a season or two. In addition to longevity, our goat leather waterproofs well, and delivers a soft, supple touch that—with proper care—only gets better with age.
Insulation
Lightweight, water-resistant warmth
Synthetic fill is built to mimic the insulating effects of down with the added bonus of maintaining warmth when wet. Instead of plumage, it uses polyester and other synthetic materials to trap air pockets and keep your body heat close. The water-resistant attributes of the fill fabrics prevent the fill from collapsing when wet, which is what allows it to trap heat even when fully saturated. While its ability to insulate when wet is superior to down, synthetic insulation is slightly heavier and less packable then the natural plumage that makes up down insulation.

Solid pair of snow mittens. The wrist cuffs are key. I used the once and they are warm and roomy.

Not a good fit - for me
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

Unfortunately the thumb length is a little short and perhaps a little too “low” creating a gap between the area between my thumb and pointer finger. The gloves feel very premium but a bit thin. I can’t speak to their warmth as I haven’t worn outside.

Probably great for skiing!

I coach rowing and it gets extremely cold out on an open body of water in a motorboat. And it is especially cold when the sun isn't out yet. I have tried many pairs of gloves and mittens to help keep my fingers warm. This pair of mittens was my latest attempt. They were pretty good! I am not convinced anything will ever keep my hands perfectly toasty in winter rowing conditions but these were soft, kept the drafts out, and fit really well. Haven?t tested in the rain yet but I?m sure they?ll be good since it?s Goretex! I?ll try to update once I get to try them.

These are my first pair of winter leather gloves and I love the warmth of these gloves. I haven't had cold or wet hands all winter long. I have used them while snowboarding and snowmobiling. I haven't seen any wear on the leather like others have seen on theirs. Winter season was cut short but I will give an update next season on how the leather is holding up. So far, I am really impressed.
