    Great Climbing Pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 130lbs

These are pretty freakin rad climbing pants. I was sent the Double Dyno Climbing Pant by Backcountry to gear test and they exceeded my expectations!! They are extremely comfortable and have an amazing stretch. They are lightweight which is perfect for climbing on those hot days. This was my first pair of climbing-specific pants and they are just awesome. The high waist is perfect. I personally don't like to climb in shorts since I always get my legs banged up. Backcountry Double Dyno Climbing Pant is the way to go for climbing and any adventure. Honestly, I also love wearing the Double Dyno pants as my airplane pants or around town too. I am 5'3 and 130 pounds and wearing the size small and it fits perfectly.

    Great Climbing Pants

    Stellar all around active pant

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 135lbs

The stretch fabric, high waist, and trim fit makes these a constant staple whenever I plan to play outside. Tailored but not tight means I can even get away with wearing them to the office! The fabric is on the heavier side so these will stay in the closet during Utah summers, but they are more durable due to the heavier weight. Love them!

    Practically perfect in every way

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 118lbs

When I first got these, I was a little nervous because some of the stitching around the waistband isn't perfectly straight and it looked like there could be some bunching. But once I put the pants on, they looked and felt stellar. Overall, I'd say the quality is excellent and any minor flaws in their construction are overcome by the superb design and materials.I haven't taken these climbing yet, but I have worn them on a short hike and I'm confident that they are more than flexible and durable enough to hold up on the wall. I'm a huge fan of these and plan on buying them in the other color offered.
Final note on sizing: I tried an XS first as I find most similar brands run pretty big and the XS didn't fit right; these are true to size. The XS was still pretty comfortable and looked good, but the waist was too tight and the butt a little too contoured. The small is perfect. Not too big, not too small. I've got about a 26" waist and a 35" hip measurement.

Looks great but quality is OK

I tried these pants on for a day around the house and they fit and feel great on. Haven't tried climbing in them yet but i expect them to hold up well and not rip! Length hits me right at the ankle which is my favorite style and I love the high rise. The material is thin and has a strong smell right out of the packaging.I'm hoping it will go away with wash. Also, I've only worn them indoor once but the stitching in the pocket is coming apart. Expected better quality for the price!

Looks great but quality is OK

    Finally, high waisted climbing pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

The women’s climbing pant designers finally listened and gave us high waisted pants! I’m 5’8 and don’t feel like I have a freakishly long torso or anything, but have never found sufficiently high waisted climbing pants until now. Super comfortable fabric, light but sturdy, nice cropped pant style with tapered leg but not skinny. I tried them out on a multi pitch on both sport & trad, and they fared perfectly. They even stood the test with not pooling sweat on a hilly approach in mid 70s temps. Excellent pants, I might get more colors! 28” waist and 38” hip and the medium was perfect.

    sturdy and stretchy

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: S
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 115lbs

The overall design and fabric are great. These are stretchy and mid to high waist. The waist bend is a little bit stiff, hopefully it will soften after wash. To me these are not cropped length (I am 5"4'). Wish they come in a shorter inseam.

    Seriously LOVE them!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I got them for climbing and they are the most comfortable and movable pants! I like the fact that they are not super tight--they are not meant to be yoga Lulu-lemon pants. The fabric moves so nicely with you and I love the higher waste band--it stays where it suppose to without leaving uncomfortable marks. Also, I like to roll up my pants and surprisingly, the pants stay where I leave them!! I don't have to continue re-adjust them for comfort. Getting the second pair now!

    Great Climbing Pant

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I just bought these in the eggplant color and will probably get the grey as well. They are just so awesome. The fit is great, love the higher waist and the cropped length. The material breathes well and provides lots of mobility for climbing or hiking. The material also dries quickly which is a plus for long days at the climbing gym.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 130lbs

These are incredible! I bought them in both colors after trying out the grey color first. The length is spot on, just above the ankle to keep your pant from getting in the way of your shoe rubber and the rock. I prefer the ankle cut over the roll-up buttons or the ankle sinch. The material is durable enough to take on the rock scrapes and light enough to wear all day in the sun for those long desert outings. I am a huge fan of the thick waistband, adds to the all-around comfort of this pant style. Also, the quick dry material is amazing for sweat or flash rain drizzles.

Lightweight Climbing Pant for Crag / Gym

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 115lbs

These pants get rid of my biggest complaint about climbing pants: low waistlines. Why? Why product designers? I only want to worry about one kind of crack while I'm climbing. These have a high waist that's super soft and flexi so if you eat too many pre-climb burritos, you're still taken care of. My only complaint is that I wish they had a more elastic bottom or a cuffed edge. Otherwise, they hold up well and fit true to size.

    The Ever-Illusive Climbing Pant!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: xs
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 105lbs

I think its a struggle for many girls to find a great pair of climbing pants that aren't leggings! Something with great movement and fit under a harness, but also a little more substantial/warmer than thin leggings. I found the double dyno pants to be almost perfect! They move well and take me comfortably from cold mornings to hot afternoons. I haven't worn them too many times yet, but the material feels durable and I haven't experienced any snags or pilling even after climbing on rough granite. My only small concern was the sizing. These felt a little large for me, which causes some bunching under a harness. But I'm a very small person, so its often difficult for me get pants the exact right size. Otherwise, highly recommend!

Pulls in the fabric after 1 hour at gym

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I just got these and they fit great! I got a compliment on them as soon as I walked in the gym when another gal commented on how hard it is to find good women’s climbing pants. I love the feel and how they move. That said, I was pretty bummed when I got in the car and noticed they’re already pilling and there are several pulls on the thighs and knees. I don’t mind wear and tear, but if this happened after only an hour at the gym, i don’t see how they’re going to hold up outside. Gotta keep looking for that elusive women’s climbing pant that isn’t a pair of leggings...

    LOVE THESE PANTS.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I haven't worn these much but I am in love! The thick waistband is comfy. I don't even have to tighten or tie the drawstrings. The 7/8 length is perfect for climbing. They are not too loose or too tight. The fabric is airy, lightweight, stretchy and seemingly quick dry. The zippered pocket in the back is a great place to tuck away small items for safe keeping. I get compliments every time I wear these! Honestly, between these pants and the On the Go shorts, these are my favorite pieces of clothing that Backcountry has made. The sizing is true to size. I have a narrow frame and they are baggier on me. On some of my friends they are a big more form fitting. I'll probably be purchasing another pair next paycheck. Email me if you have questions!

What are the washing and drying instructions? Can I put it in with the rest of my laundry and tumble dry? Thanks!
