I thought these shorts would be a great option for trail runs, however I found myself a little disappointed in them. The pros: -Very lightweight fabric -Pockets are handy for storing things -Can tie them to adjust the fit Cons: -WAY too low rise. This may be a bit of a personal preference, but I found them simultaneously falling off of me while also being too tight -Weird inner liner -Shorts fold up when running - they don't necessarily ride up your crotch, rather they seem to fold outwards on themselves and ride up that way -Shorter than they appear on the models, and much less loose around the legs and glutes area. I am 5' 5" and usually between a S/M. I purchased the medium (and the M fits great in the On the Go short!). However, this short fits very strange on me, the waistband is somehow gaping but feels tight just below the waistband and over the glutes. They aren't necessarily tight through my legs, but less flowy than I would like. The materials seem pretty high quality, but definitely not worth the full price tag (I purchased them on sale). Overall, I am not a huge fan of how they fit my body, but if you enjoy super low rise running shorts and are less endowed in the glute and quad area than myself, they may be a good option for you.

Hi Emma! Thank you so much for the feedback. I am sorry to hear you weren't stoked on these. We will definitely take this into consideration for future versions of these shorts. I'd be happy to set you up with a return or exchange for different shorts!

First off, Backcountry provided me with this product and this is my honest opinion. If you have any type of stomach, these shorts are a pass. As an Honorary Gearhead (how I've received the shorts), I really focus on being comfortable in new/unfamiliar outdoor spaces as well as helping increase narratives around inclusive sizing. This is one of those products that was great in idea, but poor in execution for the larger sizes. Initially I was really excited to wear them while running and use them as a reason to try trail running , but now sadly they'v become my "I've run out of clean clothes" shorts. Pros: - A handy lower back pocket for your keys while running. - The green/turquoise color is super cute and flattering. - The fabric is lightweight and feels like it's barely there when you're running - They don't ride up into your crotch when you're running. Cons - Too tight of a waistband. - Too much of a low rise fit. - The liner in these is horrible. Sure a liner is a nice feature but this actually looks like I'm wearing a front diaper and a is not even remotely flattering. Overall, these shorts make me too uncomfortable and aware of my body/ areas that make me insecure, thus overall detracting from my experience while using them outside. Truthfully, I used them once on a run, and then haven't used them again. I'd recommend the On the Go short over these any day.

Super light and functional!

I was super impressed when I got these shorts, they are probably the lightest running short I own. The super breezy material makes it great for hot summer hikes, running in town or on the trail, backpacking, even water sports. Even though they're incredible light, they still have great functionality with the adjustable drawstring and small zippered waist pocket. I do wish they had a little bit higher waistband since I prefer my shorts to be sit closer to my belly button. Regardless, they are very flattering and run true to size. I wear a small (I am 5'2 and 125lbs) in most tops and bottoms and these fit great, wouldn't want them any smaller or bigger. I can't wait to get out and use them more this summer!
