    Tracker 2 Avalanche Package

If you're currently venturing into the backcountry without an avalanche safety kit, it's time to get serious; even if you're OK with the risks, your friends sure as hell won't go out with you. To straighten you out, Backcountry Access is offering the three avalanche essentials—the Tracker 2 Beacon, B-1 EXT Shovel, and Stealth 270 Probe—in one ready-to-go package, so you can get serious about backcountry safety and get to those untouched turns.

The Tracker 2 is a classic, having built its reputation on a super-intuitive search interface and speedy signal recognition. Just pull the mechanical handle at the bottom of the beacon and you're in search mode, ready to make use of the Tracker's 50m range, multiple-burial indicators, and super-clear distance-and-direction indicators. It's also slimmer and lighter than its older brother the DTS, so you won't even notice you're wearing it

Keeping the Tracker 2 company are the B-1 EXT Shovel and Stealth 270 probe. The B-1 is compact and lightweight, with an telescopic aluminum blade and ergonomic T-grip handle. As you can probably tell by the name, the Stealth 270 Probe is all about sneaking up on the mountain before it even knows you're there, with 270cm of aluminum lightness and durability that sports depth markings and an Quick-Lock assembly so you don't waste time setting up when seconds become precious.

While having a full kit is infinitely better than relying on dumb luck, please remember that beacons, shovels, and probes are NOT a guarantee that you will survive an avalanche; get educated, learn how to use your tools, travel with trustworthy partners, and be smart out there.

    Great Package

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This was my first year in the backcountry and was the perfect kit for me. The Tracker 2 is super easy to use and has a long lasting battery life. The shovel is the perfect size for my The North Face Powder Guide Vest. This lightweight and durable kit is perfect for users of all abilities.

Starter Kit to Rule them all.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When it comes to back country travel safety is a necessity. This package give you piece of mind while keeping it light weight and affordable. It seems like the best of both worlds to me. I got this pack for a trip I was taking to the Northern cascades. with Snow dumping down all around me The Tracker 2 55m range is more then enough as me and my travel companion tested our gear along the way. with ease of use and comfortable body strap I forgot I was wearing it many times. The Shovel was light weight and held up to the use for digging snow pits and digging in snow to set some anchors. The probe assembled fast and was easy to break down. all in all this Is the go to for safety with a great price

    Great backcountry starter kit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My husband and I both got this kit so that we could start heading into the backcountry and it was perfect. The Tracker 2 is super easy and quick to use. It’s pretty much foolproof. And the shovel and probe were nice too. This is a great kit for getting started, especially if you can snag it on sale.

awesome package and the perfect gift

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is an amazing package for any one looking to kickstart their backcountry kit or re up on some older gear. I personally got this as a gift for my brother to get his kit going for the simplicity of the tracker 2 and its ease of use for new users. The shovel and probe are also awesome for any kit , the shovel fits in any pack and the quickdraw probe is easy to use!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am new to backcountry and am excited to become more knowledgeable using this equipment. Luckily I have not had to use it! This package is great to get started and is all super easy to pack on your backpack/body. My friend got the tracker 3 and it is smaller and lighter, but the tracker 2 is just as functionable. I recommend getting this package to start off your backcountry gear.

Liked it enough to buy it twice

I bought this avalanche package for myself and then decided to get it again for my brother when he started getting into alpine touring. Great all-in-one safety setup, perfect for beginners: the price point is good, the beacon is simple and easy to use.

      One Stop Shopping!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been skiing for years but am pretty new to touring. First thing to get before you go into the backcountry? Avalanche safety gear. I got this package because of the ease of use of the beacon. Plus I'm a little old school so I don't mind having a little larger beacon and using the harness with it. I barely even notice I have it on when I'm touring. The shovel and probe are lightweight and super easy to use as well. BCA has been in the game for years and it definitely shows with this package. Be safe out there!

      Awesome package

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This avalanche package offers tons of value. For not much more than you'd pay for the beacon you get a shovel and probe.

The shovel is small and packs easily in most packs. The one drawback to this is it won't move massive amounts of snow in one pull. The Probe is plenty long and should be long enough for all but the deepest snowpacks. The tracker 2 is proven to be one of the easiest and most reliable beacons on the market.

Make sure you practice with your gear. Knowing where and when to go into the backcountry is more important that owning the gear.

      Beacon, shovel, and probe?

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

In one package?? WOW! talk about one stop shop. In all seriousness, the tracker 2 is easy to use and reliable. Shovel and probe work as they should as well. The probe probes and the shovel shovels. Not the lightest or the fanciest of shovels/probes out there, but will get the job done.

      first backcountry kit!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm just getting into splitboarding, so I needed a set up. I went with this kit and I'm glad I did! The beacon is just as advertised. It's very simple to use and comes with a nice harness. It works great in drills, so I am confident it would work perfectly in a rescue situation. It definitely meets BCA quality! The shovel is lightweight and easy to use. The strength to weight ratio is superb. The probe extends and retracts very smoothly. You can poke around in snow for hours due to it's extremely lightweight aluminum design. This is an all around great package to get you out there simply and most importantly SAFELY!

      Crazy Light

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Perfect for my needs. The tracker 2 is a tad easier to use than the 3 with more reliability than the 1. I was super pumped on how light the entire setup was which leaves me more room and saves weight for those longer tours.
