The Backcountry Access Analog Thermometer is a crucial tool to have for studying snowpack. It accurately measures temperature gradient in the snowpack to research possibly dangerous changes to current avalanche conditions. You can better determine whether their are warmer, air pockets underneath the snow, too. This thermometer is calibrated for temperatures commonly found in the backcountry, and Backcountry Access included a sling that you can strap to skis for measuring the air's temperature.

I own 3 of these now to make full snow pit profiles quicker and easier. If it is ever off you can easily recalibrate these. Having 3 makes it easy to take an air temp, surf temp, and t20 temp all at once!

you dont need to sacrifice our life. perfect for measuring the temp on snow pack, no its no digital but who wants to rely on batteries in the backcountry.
