- Q & A
Wow! I just received this backpack. I ordered it out of curiosity. I was really looking for a hiking backpack and came across this pack and thought it might serve as a good replacement for my daily backpack/gym pack. The photos they posted donât do it justice. The initial impression was wow, okay what do I have here. The zippered opening that is located directly against your back will store a water bladder or laptop. The next zippered pocket is the main compartment/storage area. I love that it has a clam shell opening, it unzips 3/4 of the way so organizing your gear will be super easy!!! I was able to fit a rolled up jogging pant; two tee shirts and socks rolled up in shorts and my sneakers into the main compartment. My water bottle will fit in there as well and there is space for a little more. The last zippered pocket (admin) will hold your phone, keys, and a few other items. But it is also rather deep, a water bottle will fit or an iPad. The fleece pocket will hold an iPad mini. The other pocket found between the main compartment and the admin is fleece lined and will hold your googles, sunglasses or phone. The bottom has a collapsible padding, which will help protect your gear when placed on the floor. Now as far as negatives, the side stretch pockets seem shallow, but if you secure your item with the side strap it shouldnât be an issue. The grab handle sits flush which causes the zipper from the laptop pocket to rub on your hand. This may not seem like a big deal, but I can see this becoming annoying as I hold the bag by hand during my commute. And finally, Iâm concern that the exposed zippers will let water enter if used when raining. Iâll update this review once I use the bag. But Iâm hoping to keep this backpack. I hope this review helps you out.
All Around Stellar pack
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
An awesome pack. It looks good, it's comfortable, and it's just the right volume for roadtrip packing, hiking, throwing some climbing gear into, or even cameras and lenses (though there isn't enough padding between sections for this). The pockets and stitching have great details, adjusting the pack is easy, and the back panels vent pretty well, however it seems to load a bit top-heavy which is nice on hikes but very different from regular school bags that I'm used to. This daypack will definitely be my new go-to.
