Cute Style, sizing runs large

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Fit:
Runs large
Size Bought
XS
Height
5` 2"
Weight
109 lbs

I ordered a cilantro in XS according to the size chart, and expected the jacket to be too small based on previous reviews. However, I found the sizing to run large. It's roomy allover- in the shoulders, bust, waist, hip, and the overall length is longer than I expected. I am 5'2", 109lb, and my actual measurements align pretty closely with those listed for a XS in the size chart. I usually wear an XS in other clothes as well. Style-wise, I love the green color, the cinchable waist, the lines on the back of the coat, and the roomy hood. I am exchanging for an XXS and hoping for a better fit.

Darn - didn't read reviews before order

Fit:
Runs small

I ordered the XXL, and yes, it was too small. For me the top half fit ok (a little snug). The bottom half would have fit on a mermaid, maybe - or me if I didn't have to move my legs. Bummer, because the coat was nice otherwise.

Hey Shannon! Thanks for your review. We always appreciate feedback on fit. We will work to improve this in the future. In the meantime, I'd be more than happy to help you find the right gear! I've followed up via email.

I purchased a large because I was so fearful of reviews regarding sizing, but mine was exactly correct. A bit too large since I wear a medium. I love the cut. It is perfect!

Sized incorrectly

I ordered a size up after reading reviews but it wasn’t enough. I have been looking for a rain jacket like this for years and haven’t seen it till now. What a heartbreak that it doesn’t fit. I’m a normal XL so I ordered XXL. So I can’t return for a bigger size. If you order this, be sure to order 2 sizes up.

Runs very small!

Familiarity:

Fit:

Size Bought
L/XL
Height

I checked the size chart before ordering and opted for a large so I would have plenty of room for layers. It was way too small--barely zipped! I traded it in for an XL, but it still did not fit well. When I walked with it fully zipped it bunched up at the bottom in the front because of the close cut. Back it went. Very bummed because the design is cute. The size chart needs to be revisited. I normally wear an 8/10. The size chart says L fits a 12/14 and the XL a 16.

Backcountry Marais Rain Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
Runs small
Size Bought
M
Height
5` 3"
Weight
120 lbs

This jacket has a nice design. Since this is a longer jacket and sits mid to lower thigh depending on your height, a recommended change would be to add the ability to unzip the jacket from the bottom. It is a light weight thin jacket in comparison to other waterproof jackets I have owned. I am 5'3 120lbs and purchased a size up (medium) so that I could wear a heavier layer underneath. The jacket seems to run a bit small because anything thicker than a long sleeve shirt feels snug. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase but glad that I waited to pay $80 instead of the full price. I have used it while running errands in the rain and stayed dry. Have not put it to the test on a rainy hike yet.

Like the jacket, way too small!

The sizing chart is way off for this item. I normally wear a M/L (size 10). According to the sizing chart, the L is supposed to fit a size 12/14 but I ordered it anyway after reading some reviews saying the jacket runs small. The L barely zipped! I like the coverage of this jacket and the vents, but now have to return it for a bigger size.

Sized Wrong

I wear a medium. I wanted a raincoat that would be large enough for layers underneath AND would cover my camera. I bought an XL. It fits like a medium. Room for only thin layers and NO extra room to cover a camera. Very disappointing.

Grabbed this to replace a North Face long rain jacket. This is a much lighter and softer material but feels durable all the same. Little long in the arms but I won't change the size bc the rest fits well - I rolled the sleeve once and it's perfect - no liner shows. Got the green and it matches the picture. Flattering fit and really like the longer length - I would definitely recommend!

Perfect PNW Rain Jacket!

It is hard to find the perfect rain jacket and even harder to find one that is longer, but yet here I am writing this review! I needed a jacket to wear while visiting my friend in Washington, I wanted something longer that would look cute but still offer the protection from the elements that is needed in the PNW. This jacket fit the bill and more! So perfect my friend is even going to snag one. I am petite and finding a jacket that does not make me look shorter is a huge task, this jacket is very flattering due to the coattail cut in the back, the high low cut of the front and back, and the adjustable waist cinch. The back of the jacket (as seen in the photos) has a cute almost layered look which hides the mesh ventilation so it is easy to dump heat out of the back. It is technically a waterproof material and beads water nicely, I recommend making sure to wash it in tech specific wash and take care of it properly which will extend the life of the jacket. Definitely recommend!
