Hawx Ultra Xtd 130 Alpine Touring Boot

The Hawx Ski Boot took the skiing community by storm last season, so Atomic made an entire collection of Hawx boots in various flexes, lasts, and specificities. The Hawx Ultra XTD 130 Alpine Touring Boot is a backcountry-specific Hawx boot with a narrower last and the stiffest flex available in the ski industry. Atomic made this freeride-inspired touring boot stiff enough to drop pillows and slash spines, without dragging you down on the skintrack. Atomic's Grilamid Progressive Shell combines thicker walls in areas that need to be stronger with slimmer walls everywhere else to shed weight without sacrificing solid power transfer and downhill performance.

While the Memory Fit liner already has preshaped heel and ankle pockets, it's also heat-moldable so you can tinker around with the fit for optimal comfort, and Atomic's Free/Lock 2.0 Walk Mechanism allows for a 54-degree range of motion in walk mode so you can fly up the skinner with a natural stride. These kicks weigh in at 1420 grams per foot, and while that may not be as featherlight as some of the other skimo offerings, it's light enough to get you up the mountain without feeling gassed before you get to reap your reward. Plus, when your knees are shaking while you're getting ready to drop into a walled-in pinner, you'll be psyched to have these solid chargers on your feet.

    • Atomic's stiffest, narrowest ski boot for backcountry touring
    • 130 flex ideal for aggressive, hard-charging riders
    • 98 last is the narrowest Hawx boot for a precise feel
    • Memory Fit liner is thermo-moldable for a customized fit
    • Free/Lock 2.0 walk mode grants massive 54° cuff rotation
    • Skywalk rubber sole outfitted with Dynafit certified tech inserts
    • Item #ATO00F0

    One-boot Quiver

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:True to size
    Size Bought28.5
    Height6` 0"
    Weight195 lbs

I purchased these at the beginning of the season and have put about 35 days on them, so far. Mix of resort days and backcountry days in the CO Front Range. These boots can do it all. They have a great balance of being light for the skin up + burly enough to rip down anything. They fit me great out of the box, and it was easy to get it super dialed in with a combination of a liner and shell molding. I highly recommend these if you're looking for a boot you can ski anywhere and in any conditions.

    Favorite Boot

I've had a pair of these boots for the past two seasons, putting on 100+ days each season. I absolutely love these boots! Once you get them heat molded you'll never want another boot. I am a large aggressive skier at 6'3 220 lbs wearing a 29.5 boot and I work these boots from opening to closing day. From skiing in bounds groomers to touring all day in the side/backcountry to banging spring bumps in May/June these boots are fantastic!

One Boot to Rule them all!!!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Are you looking for a boot that can literally fit any Foot size? Do you want a boot that's Light enough to tour, but stiff enough for resort days? Do you love the feel of your running shoes but can't quite figure out how to get them into a ski binding? Then this is the boot for you! With the memory fit shell and some padding you can mold this boot to literally any foot shape. I got board once and blew out a demo 26.5 to fit my 28.5 foot, with just a toe cap (don't tell my boss). Was it fun? Not really. Did I find out how far this shell will stretch? Absolutely! All Joking aside, I worked as a boot fitter at a ski shop for years and was stoked when this product landed on our wall. I finally had a boot that worked for our customer looking for a light weight touring boot that they could ski in bounds daily. Pair this with a shift binding and you have a quiver Killer. The range of motion is phenomenal and goes far beyond what your ankle should making long days in the skin track much more efficient. Plus the Liner is nice and plush where you need it, and ventilated in key areas to keep your toes nice and dry (sweaty feet become cold feet). In addition it is compatible with all Walk to ride, Multi norm compatible, and most tech bindings, making it great for your do it all set up. Now you just need to go find the powder stash!

I get speechless when I talk about this boot because it's just PERFECT.. It makes walking uphill easy, and skiing down even better.. Heat moldable shell, lightweight, stiff backbone for support, custom & warm liner, range of motion like a hiking shoe, pin toes and heals, ect.. This boot got even better this year with the new liner, new buckles, and rad paint job.. Wana talk durability..? I've skied mine about 175-200 times and they are still skiing strong! And honestly, I bet i could ski them 100 more times and they'd be fine!! Side point, the walk mode and rockered soles are great if you're looking to hike up hill more or hang around at apres without looking goofy, however, if you don't care about those features, make sure to check out the Hawk Ultra, Prime, or Magna!! Also awesome boots that have most of the same features!!

These boots are total chargers on the downs! Considering that, they're still an impressive boot to skin in. Light, great range of motion, and super comfortable on the feet. If they don't fit quite right out of the box there's a lot that can be done with the ability to mold the entire liners and shells of these. I've been using the 2018/19 version for everything from long missions to ski big lines to a couple days at the resort, and have been happy in all circumstances. I definitely recommend!

    The real deal!

Just got this boot. Fit is amazing and the flex is great. This is the first touring boot to claim a 130 flex thats accurate. Tour mode is simple and effective and it rips on the downhill. Fantastic boot!

    Quiver Killer Boot!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This boot is the true quiver killer of boots! I skied the the 2018/2019 version of the Hawx Ultra XTD 130 everyday of my season last year and it was exceptional. I now have a few days on this years Hawx Ultra XTD 130 and Atomic has made some minor changes that have a huge difference in the way the boot performs. The liner is more comfortable, the strap is now a booster style strap which helps dramatically with stiffing up the boot, and there are now holders on the cuff buckles that keep the buckles in place when they are open during touring. Having the top buckles stay on the setting that you prefer makes switching from hike to ski even faster at the top. All you have to do is flip from hike to ski and clamp the buckles down. No more fiddling with buckles at the top of a descent. This boot is a 10/10 when it comes to a stiff charging boot that is still super light and has great range of motion for hiking. I wear a 9.5 or 10 in street shoes, so typically I am a 26.5. However, the Atomic boot sole lengths are a little shorter than most so I found the 26.5 to be too tight. I upped to a 27.5 which is perfect for someone that is in between sizing like me. It's smaller as 27.5 boots go with a 312mm BSL. If you are on the bigger end of a size I would recommend sizing up.

    Just Unreal Performance and fit

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Out of the box this boot feels amazing. The new liner is stiffer than the previous version and is capable of handling any ski in any condition. Full memory fit means the shell and liner mold to your feet. Grip Walk soles means you have to have an MNC or Gripwalk binding. I've been using this boot as my one and only boot for 3 years and it is absolutely the best fit and performance I have ever had.
