Backland Tour Ski Binding + Brake

Atomic stuck with what works when it designed its Backland Tour Binding—its intuitive design aims to make touring an efficient experience by combing a classic two-pin toe piece with a streamlined heel piece. A small metal bar extends across the binding to guide your boot's tech fittings into the pins as you step into the binding, eliminating the chance of overshooting the pins to save time during transitions. Atomic also widened the mounting pattering of the binding, which helps improve power transmission to the ski and strengthen binding retention to reduce the risk of pullouts when you're skiing aggressively in less-than-ideal conditions. Putting an emphasis on simplicity, Atomic designed the heel to rotate in both directions and equipped it with two heel risers to adapt to varying terrain and slope angles although, your touring partners will appreciate it if you keep your skintrack as mellow as possible.

    • Atomic's lightweight tech binding for long-haul backountry tours
    • Step-in assist toe piece reduces fiddle time during transitions
    • Simple heel piece turns both directions for ease of use
    • Two heel riser heights provide maximum efficiency on steep terrain
    • Wide mounting pattern drives power to ski and improves retention
    • 30mm sole length adjustment accommodates a range of boot sole lengths
    • Item #ATO00C4

    Simple. Reliable. Strong

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've pushed this binding really hard on skis as wide as 120 underfoot in firm and soft conditions. I've hiked long distances to huts and logged big vert. I cannot believe how simple and powerful the backland binding is. It performs like a heavier over engineered tech binding but weighs next to nothing. If you want simpole. strong reliability in the backcountry, then this is it. Find out more at
