Backland Pro Touring Boot

The Atomic Women's Backland Pro Alpine Touring Boot combines an impressive flex with a low weight so you can ski farther reaches in the backcountry. It's the second stiffest ski boot in Atomic's women-specific backcountry collection, and each booth only weighs about two and a half pounds. Even more impressive is the Free/Lock 4.0 walk mode latch at the back that allows a massive 74° range of motion unlocked. New for 2020, the Backland Pro boasts a Boa dial for a quick-and-easy fit.

I wanted to love these boots. I really did. They are so light, fit well in walk mode and that range of motion! When in ski mode, the Boa system grabs just the forefoot and emits a weird pressure point from the boa dial. The upper buckle is adequate. But it's like they forgot all about the ankle as my heel never felt like it was locked in a heel pocket. The boot ended up being too soft in flex for my liking and sadly I am returning them. I was hoping these would be a winner. If you like a soft flexing ski boot, you might really like these.
