Inspires more winter fun.
From deep snow to steep mountainous terrain, the Atlas Stratus Snowshoe inspires more winter fun while tackling more challenging terrain. It features an aggressive All-Trac toe crampon which provides traction in all directions for confident hiking. The lightweight, durable V-frame tracks straight in deep snow, and the tapered tail pulls less snow so you can save energy. Spring-Loaded Suspension keeps the snowshoe close underfoot for easy maneuvering and natural movement side to side. The SLS also enhances traction, making it easier to navigate steep or off-angle terrain. A heel lift bar allows you to make short work of steep, icy, and uneven terrain by easing foot and calf fatigue. Atlas Stratus Snowshoe
Used recently on a glacier in Alaska. They were very good on flat to medium grade. Steep grades had problems but would expect same issues with other brands. The only issue was the binding wires would get caught on my mountaineering boots getting them on and off. Once snowshoes were on, they performed well.
Great all around snowshoe
I've taken these out a couple times now and they have done well in all conditions. The boa fit is great and the metal cleats work really well for reliable traction.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The Atlas Stratus Snowshoes are a really nice option for someone just looking to get out in nature in the winter.
Other snowshoes that are out there can be super cumbersome to put on and take off, but the ratchet strap on these works great to make it much easier than other options.
They're pretty lightweight, and so far seem to be really functional.
