RS Aero FF Gloves
During the summer, sometimes we don gloves on our road rides, other times we don't. When we do, it's gotta be of the ultralight short-finger variety that breathes easily and keeps our mitts cool in warm conditions. That's exactly where the RS Aero FF Gloves from Assos shine.
Assos made sure that comfort and dexterity were of utmost importance and to achieve this, it uses five different textiles, 10 panels, and three components. In doing so, it eliminated the typical wrinkle at the palm as soon as you bend your hands to grasp the bar. This curved 3D shape mimics the structure of the hand eliminating bulk and improving bar feel.
The back of the hands gets Assos' Breezer Tex, an ultralight woven fabric with a mesh-like structure, helping to improve breathability and providing a soft feel. Padding consists of strategically positioned pads at the palm with the whole lot wrapped in perforated synthetic leather for lightweight protection. Lastly, the glove is a simple pull-on affair, eliminating fasteners for a clean design that disappears on rides.

I thought these gloves were great until they started falling apart. One of the seams simply started failing. I've owned them for 11 months but didn't use them in the winter so it's really like 6 months of use. Good fit, nice materials, just a little padding on the palm. I'd rather have no padding but that's tough to find since brands seem to want to always "add value" when sometimes the value add is really a detraction. Much nicer to not be additionally separated from the bars, IMO. I like full figure more than short finger. Hey Assos, if you're going to charge prices for products as if they were imbued with magical properties the quality should match the price. These gloves should last 3 years minimum given how much I use them.

Slick and thin, with light padding in all the right places. I've used this for about 500 miles now--I was worried it would lack padding, but I've realized I appreciate a thinner long glove. I've used it in 65-70 degree days and 40 degree days--it seems to have a large range of versatility. I love not having white etching of some brand on a glove--wish this was the norm! Will be getting the short finger ones today!
