    That cap, not the movie.

While many apparel brands focus their attention toward creating the best in terms of large core layers, Assos prides itself on doing that, and more. Clothing designers at the Swiss label know the importance of obsessing over the small, yet crucial, accessory layers, which is why they devote a great deal of energy refining fit and overall functions of these items. Such is the case with Assos' extensive headwear collection, with each item designed to keep your head dry and comfortable in specific climates. The Assos roboCap 607 aligns itself within Assos' Winter 6 climaRange, meaning that it's ideal for the 25 to 40 degree Fahrenheit temperature range.

The Assos roboCap 607 was designed to be worn under your helmet when the temperatures fall into that too-cold-for-a-headband-only zone. The cap was constructed with the exclusive Assos RXQ material. This fabric features a dual-layer composition where the outer-layer appears fleecy, and the inner-layer is razor thin. Assos considers this final layer to be a "transportation" textile with the dual purpose of moving moisture away from the skin and insulating. The concept operates on a push-pull methodology, where sweat is pushed away while warmth is pulled in closer to the head. However, none of this could take place without RXQ's hollow-fiber construction. The open cells perform all of the aforementioned, only at an accelerated pace. Additionally, the material has natural antibacterial properties.

Assos applied a second layer of the RXQ material around the ears and forehead, ensuring that these areas stay fully protected from the icy cold air. The roboCap 607 was finished off with a smooth hem, reflective detailing, and a small Assos logo along the forehead. Small elastic loops, called "suspenders" by Assos, were sewn into the side panels to securely hold the arms of your glasses in place.

The Assos roboCap 607 is available in the sizes 0 (48-53cm), I (53-58cm), and II (58-63cm) and in the colors Black Volkanga, Red Swiss, and White Panther.

    Excellent item, delivered as promised

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

It kept my head warm in a range of 40-50F including a ride with a real feel of mid 30's. size 1 or medium was a spot on fit for my 58ish cm noggin. I really enjoy the loops for glasses.

    Good Quality Runs Small

Excellent quality. Stays in place. Like most things European it runs small. Competitive Cyclist rep recommended Size 1, but I was happy I read the reviews which called attention to the small sizing. So I ordered a Size 1 and 2 and sure enough it did run small. I kept the 2 and returned the 1 . My head measured 22 1/2 and the 2 was the correct fit though the sizing chart said 1 was my size.. A Size 3 is definitely needed for larger heads than mine.

Thin cap & good protection. Runs small.

Snug fitting cap that I wear primarily under a bike helmet for commuting in the Chicago area. Seems good for me from 25 degrees to 50 degrees F, and it helps a lot with temperature regulation in misty or light rain conditions. I am going to try the largest size (II) version, even though my normal hat size (7 and 1/8 inches) would suggest that the medium version (I) that I purchased should be my best fit.

    Nice and toasty.

Though I live here in Louisiana, nevertheless, I get cold quite easily, especially my ears. This product fixes that completely.

    Great cap for 50-65°

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This beautifully made cap is made from light, thin, Roubaix fabric and fits easily under your helmet. It is perfect for keeping your head -and ears- warm while riding in cool 50-65° F weather.

Best thing about Assos caps? They cover the ears the best of any cycling cap out there! This keeps the cold and wind out.

Other pros: Typical superb Assos quality of sewing and fabrics.

Cons: No wind-stopper material in front. So this is really meant for use in temps above 45/50°F (though temp sensitivity is personal).

For riding in colder weather (sub-50°F) buy a "barrier" cap like the great Assos "FuguCap" (other good ones are made by Castelli and Pearl Izumi).

Sizing: My head is 58-59 cm (end of size medium in Giro helmets). I bought the size II. Plenty of room. Fits perfect!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my fav winter cap. Keeps my sweaty head warm and dry. It covers my ears and I can still hear cars very well. Does run small, I wear a med in women's helmets and I had to get a II in this
