Mille GT EVO Winter Jacket
The Assos Mille GT EVO Winter Jacket is designed for those winter rides when you’re covered head to toe with only your eyes feeling any wind flow behind cycling shades. Assos constructs the jacket from a highly technical and purpose-specific choice of fabrics for performance in cold climates with rains and winds. On the front, Assos uses a blend of their NEOS Light and RX Heavy layers to shield you from head-on rains and provide complete windproofing. The treatment flows to the upper back, where a lighter layer of NEOS Medium takes over to provide warmth enough for comfort but allows some heat and moisture to leave so that you won’t overheat during intense winter training miles. And on the sleeves, Assos uses NEOS Ultra and 652.RX for a twin-layer of warmth and element protection in a cut that maximizes range of motion while in the cycling position. What all this means is that Assos wants you to challenge yourself in winter, and the Mille GT EVO is up to the task.
Helpful details that will go unnoticed but are appreciated are rear pocket stabilizers that keep loaded pockets from sagging under the weight of extra food and supplies that are typically carried on winter rides. Assos caps the pockets with “lids” to keep the contents dry and secured, and reflective details alert motorists to your presence in low-light riding.

Good fit, but not as warm
- I've used it several times
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 5` 9"
- 177 lbs
I bought this jacket and had to return it as it did not fit well; purchased a medium originally. I eventually had it replaced with an XL. I'm 5'9" and 177 lbs. The replacement looks great, but not as warm as expected. After-all, I'm spending over $300, so I was expecting it to really handle the frigid temps. To be fair, I also purchased the Assos winter base-layer. I've worn it a number of times and the best temperature ranges are between 35 - 45 degrees. This jacket is not suitable for freezing temps (32 or <).

I was excited to get this jacket as the appearance was attractive and all the mountain bike magazines said this was a great winter mtn bike jacket. But when it arrived it was the strangest fitting garment I have ever received. I am 6`1" with long arms. A standard XL size has fit me for years. This jacket, though, seems to have been stitched together with XXL arms and then a body between Small and Medium. I could not get the jacket sides more than 4 inches together when I tried to zip up. I either got a bad jacket or their XL is just off. I do want to compliment Competitive Cyclist for handling the return so well so far.

Sorry Matt but that is the way Assos runs its sizing. Simply put Assos is the top of the line riding gear for dedicated cyclists. You will find that many cycling clothing suppliers gear is sized for what the cycling community calls S, M, L and the XL, XLG and then TLR at your weight your probably and TLR. If you were to check the Assos sizing charts you would see that their charts even give you height and weight requirements. Anyone over 198 lbs is a size TLR. I weigh 180 lbs @ 72 inches and the XL fits nice and snug.
